Re: Positive Thoughts For Saturday

Ruby, school year is going well and just so much fun. I adore the kids and teachers!  Been tutoring a girl who was to graduate almost 2 years ago but due to migraines and severe anxiety could not finish school. She just completed her literature online class. 2 more classes to finish and she will have her  high school diploma. She has come so far in the past year and to see her gain so much confidence has been the best.  I am so proud of her.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Be well and peace, nancy

@nj - that is wonderful to hear.  I always loved watching the students progress in any way, knowing my help was doing something.  Good for you, too.@nj - that is wonderful to hear.  I always loved watching the students progress in any way, knowing my help was doing something.  Good for you, too.

Hello ladies -- so nice to hear from you today.

@Bellabutterfly  Love the pics.  Hope you are feeling better.

I talked with my girlfriend tonight.  She's  the gal that needs to look into the hospice center.  She isn't doing well at all.  To top it all off, she now has shingles.  That poor thing; I'm just sick to my stomach about the whole situation.  She is in a great deal of pain and that was before shingles.  I'm so upset and frustrated for her.

Your positive thoughts are just what I needed tonight.  Thank you so much, sweet bella!

Ladies - have a wonderful weekend.  Our weather is still in the 70s.  That's warm for November here.  I'm thrilled and loving the longer fall weather.

God bless you all.  Prayers go out to you Bella and my dear friend.  Also I pray for comfort and peace; for the sick and lonely.

Hi @3suwm5 !

3suwm5 honey, I wanted to ask you...Have you every experienced anyone that had to go into hospice?  Before your friend?  Is this the first time for you to experience this?  I am asking because it would be very beneficial and very informative for you to talk with a hospice counsels.

They are wonderful. My experience with hospice happened in 2001 when my Mother-In-Law fell and hit her head and needed stitches. My husband was with her at the hospital and I asked my husband "Did they do an x-ray on her"?  He said, "No they did not".  I told my husband, "Tell the doctors, she is not leaving this hospital without having an x-ray' of her head done?  We kept tell her doctor that something is wrong?  She went in for a hip replacement and here as she was recovering in a rehab center.  Here they got her up and out of bed and she goes , "I am dizzy and she passed out the nurse dropped her on the floor and rebroke her hip that was just replaced.  Yes, unreal!  So then she has another hip replacement and we keep saying something is terrible wrong with her no one listened to us her doctor said she is going to be fine.

Well, long story short.  That day she hit her head and needed stitches she said "She got dizzy and that is all she remembered because she got knocked out."  Well my husband said to the doctor, "My wife wants to talk to you".  I told him she is not leaving that ER until she gets and Head X-ray.  Well, here they take the head X-ray and now they are rushing her to have a CT Head scan with contrast.  The doctor comes out and says to my husband, "I am so sorry to tell you this but you mother has advanced brain cancer and it is in 3/4 of her brain".  It was like we were hit in the face... I said, "Dam this medical system".  We the family new something was very wrong.

She was diagnosed on October 26th, (my birthday), she immediately went into a hospice center.  We took her out after 3 days, we were so disgusted with the care.

We took her home to die.  All the family chipped in taking turns staying with her 24 hours a day and hospice came to us at home.  My Mother-In-Law died  on Christmas Morning.  (9 weeks from her diagnosis).

But 3suwm5, the hospice counsel who came to the house was wonderful.  They were there anytime we needed them.  There are so many stages, a person goes thou when dying.   gave us to read and explained the counselors went over everything and any questions we had they were they.  They were wonderful.  When we called the hospice and told her Mom passed over she dropped everything on Christmas Day and came over to the house and sat with us and waited with us until the the coroner.

So, that is why I would like you to talk to a hospice counselor to know what to expect.  They are wonderful.

Love, Blessings and Hugs!

@Bellabutterfly  Thank you so much.  That is very valuable information for me.Heart

@Bellabutterfly I hit the wrong button last night and posted before I was ready.  Sweet Bella, I wanted to say I am so sorry about your dear MIL having suffered from her cancer.  Diagnosed on your birthday, how sad.  I remember my Father passing over on our youngest's birthday, it was a hard day to celebrate, but he was only 9 at the time.   God Bless your family for traveling that path.
