Re: Please Offer Help-Stalker

Back to what I was sayin': When I complained to HR I was told that there was no violence in the workplace. What happened is that security got involved and things changed. Sadly he was let go. It was a mess and very frightening.

It is all fine and good to tell somebody to buy a gun and learn how to use it. First you need to know the laws in your state..but also laws are very strict on when you can use a gun..gone are the days of drag them on your property...these days it is a whole different ball game of legal/criminal liability and then statistics show in cases often times the gun is taken and used on the victim. I am not anti gun in any way, shape or form..but you we need to be informed so we do not end up on the wrong side of the law in cases justifying yourself and your actions.

That's why it is very important to contact the police for advice. OP:   Tell them that you are in fear for your life.  Specify whatever threats he has made against you.  Ask them what your rights are in the event he breaks into your house.  (It's fine to have a restraining order and you can certainly call the police if he is outside, but if he breaks in, your time is limited and you should be able to protect yourself.)

Tell them also about any threats either his friends have made to you - or he has made on their behalf.  Get restrainng orders against them as well if warranted.

If you are concerned that he may accost you on the street, tell them that too and ask about your rights to concealed carry.

Tell him that you have a gun and are prepared to defend yourself.  (This is what I did with my ex with whom I lived in a battering relationship for several years.  I finally came to my senses, overcame my fear, and left him.  He then threatened my life.  When I forcefully told him I would kill him if he tried, he believed me and left me alone.  One note, we had guns in the house when I lived with him and went target shooting and he knew I was a good shot. But if you take lessons and let him know you have, your telling him this could still deter him.)

As long as you allow him to control you through fear, it will never stop.

Re: Please Offer Help-Stalker

Not very long ago, I ran across Justice Network channel.  Lots of true life incidents/situations, each in 30 minute episodes (daily, all day long). ( If one episode doesn't interest you, there are others during the day and night.  You have to keep checking in.) .... So many things have been going on across the country that we haven't even heard about.   All real incidents, btw.  In real, nice towns, etc.  ..........

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

@ROMARY. Can you tell some of things happening we don't know about? I just checked my cable listing and we don't get that channel.

Re: Please Offer Help-Stalker

ProudlyFromNJ:  Hello, I'm back!   Unfortunately, when I  press 'Guide', the top of my TV screen doesn't show the actual programming/individual show info on this particular channel.   A good idea would be to go to Justice Network and see if they have the info re: each show/episode/etc.  'All in all' the shows relate to past crime cases, such as r*pes, m*uders, assaults, and just about everything else that's criminal.  I never know ahead of time what the show will be. But that's probably just my area and TV.  I just 'check in' at the beginning of each 1/2 hour to find out if I'll be interested in watching.  It's something similar to, say, Dateline or 48 Hours, only in a 1/2 hour time frame.  More condensed, to to speak.  No need to wait an entire week for the next 48 Hours, Dateline, etc., etc.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
