@fthunt Contact your credit card company! You no longer need to scan any credit card; just tap it on the reader which cannot be copied or hacked. It's an amazing, simple and safe security feature.

@BirkiLady Thanks........now I get it.  However, I don't have the latest and greatest phone....I'm still ....'flipping'.

I'm like........if I'm shopping.....you want to chat a spell....tell me non- urgent info or  rent an apartment....call me at home.....I'm busy now.

Re: Paying At The Pump Changed!!!!

@fthunt  Those flip phones were nice. Mine lived in the car 24/7 and seldom needed a charge since it didn't do anything else but make necessary (to me) calls. I'm still not tied to my phone and it remains in the car when I'm out and about, but it has to many features that it eats up the battery life.

@Luvsmyfam  In N.J. they do.  Matter of fact, it's illegal to pump your own gas.

Re: Paying At The Pump Changed!!!!

Every store in my area seems to have a "different" card reader.

One store has the customer punch buttons to rate the counter person.

Another has an "option" to donate to charity.

A third one....still has the counter person run the card..........and so on.

I am sure different credit card readers are frustrating, but it's one of those situations where no company that makes the machines has a monoply.

You didn't at all my Dear.  I have been in retail for 10 years after retiring from teaching, am a shopper, and have never seen a business that had the same machine as another, which does seem odd.Smiley Happy

Re: Paying At The Pump Changed!!!!

Hi @ECBG  You can either go on your bank's website or call them (or the phone numbers on the cards) and ask for a touchless "tap" credit card and debit card. There's no longer a need to insert a card into a slot, having to touch what numerous people have touched before you, etc. I think the way the tap cards work is nifty.
