I just thought I would let you know.  While paying at a different gas station yesterday, it wanted to have my card still inserted while I punched in my pin number.  When I pushed it in and pulled it out as I alread did, the screen read "denied".  I knew that was not the case.

I was SO accustomed to quickly inserting my debit card and pulling it out, before my pin number, it concerned me!

DH says it's "new machines"!  Grrr.........

I'm not sure what has changed?  If I use a debit card, I have to put in my PIN.  If I use a credit card, I'm asked for my zip code.

I never use a debit card for gas..........scanners thieves can put that ???? card-copier in  in the slot............ to extract your debit card number.

I always use a credit card - I can dispute if something funny occurs....

Yes, often - not always - credit card may ask for your zip number.  That's good.

@Luvsmyfam   In NJ you aren’t allowed to pump your own gas. Always pumped by an attendant. I’m 72 and have never pumped gas.

Not only did they pump your gas.....they also checked your oil & washed your windshield. ...... Guess I'm giving away my age!!
