@qvcaddition,

You sound like a very kind and caring person and I bet that is why you have other kind people caring about you.

I think you and Melanie were lucky to have each other. I know you miss her very much. I hope the love you always shared with Melanie will give you comfort while you get lots of rest in the days ahead.

Thank you. I also appreciate all of you and and taking your time to post and care. I have not been on the post with the info and all that has happened in awhile. Many gracious here with you. I will take care. In time I may get a Senior dog from Muttsville.  In time.  My fear was leaving that one, but my neighbor who suggested it said, she would foster it when I went. Way too soon, but I'll see. Thank you

Oh, @qvcaddition , I am so so sorry to hearing of Melanie's passing.💔

Reading your many posts over the years about her I know that she had such a wonderful life with you.  You saved each other.  I know how much my dog meant to me after my husband passed on and how much I miss her now, even though I still have two cats.  I know how hard it is and I can only imagine how empty your home feels right now.

I'm happy to hear that you have kind neighbors to look in on you and that you intend to volunteer with organizations that are important to you.  You can help others and by doing so honor Melanie's memory.  And keep yourself busy.

I know perhaps it's too soon to think about it, but if the opportunity should arise in the future and you feel up to it, I hope you are able to share your life with another little soul in need.

Hugs to you...💔🐾🪽❤️

Thank you everyone for all the blessings and the kind words.  I do miss my Melanie so very much.

All of you that have pets know the sadness, when they go over the Rainbow Bridge, but also the joy of remembering the  good times that your pet brought to you.

She is not old and sick anymore and that is a  comfort.  I am so glad I had a portrait done of her a few years ago. I have many pictures, but this one is special.

She was a Therapy Dog, had the training and was official .  I have all the gear she wore and her Kaiser volunteer ID card.  Am going to get a special display box to have with her stuff in it, collar, little bowl, sweater, etc.

I also have a heart necklace that opens and some ashes will go in it so I can carry her with me.

God Bless all of you for loving your animals and being so kind with your messages.

Thank you.  God has been with me alot. The decision I had to make to let her go, but the peace of knowing I did what was humane.

@qvcaddition  I certainly understand your feelings in letting Melanie go.  My thoughts are with you.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

@qvcaddition  Hello, my friend. So very sorry to hear your Melanie is gone. Words are so trite, but these are sincere.  I know how much this hurts, it always will. I'm glad to hear you have wonderful neighbors to help you through it.  You have many cyber friends here.  I'll be looking for your posts!

MoJov, Than you so very much.  I am holding up OK. I kiss her little night sweater every night and talk to her constantly.  I will start volunteering in Jan for Silver Paws and also for the food bank and taking one class at the college on story telling. We tell about our life or write about our experiences..

I do keep busy, but every thing reminds me of Melanie. From watching TV together, the yard work, and she went every where with me in the car.

In seventeen years we were not apart one night. I would not leave her.

Next spring I will finally visit family in Levenworth Washington.  The cutest little town. A Barvarian Village. Actually it has grown a great deal since i was there many years ago. Melanie was my family here.

She went downhill so fast. I tried everything to make her better, but the vet said it's time.

Many on this site have lost their fur babies and have been very kind to me.

All have gone through the awful hurt.  They also have gone through the great loving fun times with them.

Mojoy, again thank you for your loving post and remembering me. All the posts gave me comfort. I rarely see my children.

I will post again about my adventures. I;m not one to stay still. My work life was  with the public. I love to talk to people.  Im just taking time to adjust to  losing Melanie. Of course when her (private) ashes come back, she will go everywhere with me again. I left her bed in the car and the ashes will travel with me. In bed at night. In the living room watching TV. In the kitchen at dinner or breakfast.  I know, it sounds crazy, but it is how I will get through the grief.  Though I have family, my neighbors are more like family.

Gosh, I must be very old. I was informed, that I am now a Great, Great Grandmother.  I don't feel old, just a worn out at the moment. The last two weeks have been very hard, some nights no sleep at all, but that's what you do when someone needs you.

Take care.  Have a great holiday and I will be posting again with my new adventures.  Bless you.

@qvcaddition  You sweet, precious, loving lady!Heart

My heart goes out to you at this time for losing your little darling girl.

She was so lucky to have you.  She would have been heartbroken if she lost YOU.

You were kind enough to help her move on and away from her misery.  It's over.  She passed peacefully.Heart

I think that when you feel up to it, you could go to the shelter and delight all the dogs (and cats?) there.  They'd be so lucky to have you every time you visited!  That would fill your heart, too.
