12000 acres burned,5% contained, the smoke is back, hard to breath...but we are doing okay...

Happy to read that you and yours continue to do okay, @fourpaws56. Take care to not breathe in too much of the smoke. Can be so dangerous for any with respiratory problems, the elders and the little ones- including that poor cat left to fend for herself. 😟

I just got a notification from the Sheriff's Dept. Our air quality is hazardous and we may have to leave.
I am SO mad that my DILs parents left the cat behind and there is nothing I can do about it..

I'm so sorry you have to leave your home again, @fourpaws56. Better safe than sorry, though. I hope you have extended family you can stay with in a safer environment- breathing easier.
Have to say, I'm upset about the poor cat, too. Just can’t understand leaving her behind, but there is nothing you can safely do now. I'm praying extra hard for her! 🙏
Maybe she has left the area- possibly with other people who evacuated and isn’t hungry/thirsty or breathing in the smoke.

So sorry you may have to leave, but it is in your best interests. That smoke has so many chemicals in it, especially if homes have been burned also. After our 1st fire, I was not allowed to go near the house. I was PG, and they said no way I could be near it. Too many chemicals that could affect the unborn Child.
Hoping (always) that the winds turn, and blow this fire back to where it began. That, of course, would give all those Brave Fire Fighters a chance to get it contained.
My Thoughts Are With You, And All Of Your Precious Fur Babies.

Prayers going up for everyone's safety, including the abandoned cat, and for blessed rain to fall where it is most needed.

fourpaws56...
Just checking in to see how you and your
precious kitties are doing and praying that
you're all safe and sound.
My heart still aches for that innocent kitty
and continue to pray that a fire fighter finds
her ASAP,brings her to a shelter that's in a
safe area and that somehow word of her
rescue reached you.
Was watching GMA earlier this morning and
they showed footage of the fires in your
area as well as the wildfires that are burning
out of control in Oregon.
Ironically yesterday afternoon the area that
I live in (25 miles NW of NYC) as well as
many other states/areas in the NE, were
slammed with powerful thunder and rainstorms.
Mother Nature sure got her directions wrong.
Continuing to send more prayers of protection
to you, your kitties, the brave fire fighters
and to all of the people and animals who are
still being affected by those horrific fires.
