Hi @KACEE1115 my father had PAD and the most important thing I can say we did was to choose a cardiologist and/or vascular specialist who is highly recommended. It is different for everyone so specialist is essential. My dad had calf/leg pain when walking but some have no symptoms. After his tests showed PAD, he had supervised treadmill/walking plan, medications, diet change etc but we worked with his vascular doctor closely. I get my blood pressure checked in my legs now just to keep aware. Best to you with your tests this week

I have Coronary Artery Disease and have had Peripheral Artery Disease. I have had 2 heart attacks and am very familiar with it'. You are taking the 1st step, seeing your doctor, which is the most important step.
What test(s) are you having this week?

I have had both the Doppler Arterial and Venous Doppler Tests done. The Arterial test used both Ultrasound and Blood Pressure type cuffs. The Cuffs were placed on my upper thigh/upper and lower calf muscles and I believe, even on my feet. These were done many years ago, so not really sure about the feet.
They squeeze your leg similar to a arm Blood Pressure Cuff. The Ultrasound is similar to a Sonogram in the way it is done. Think it shows some kind of electronic waves that show them the functioning of the veins and/or arteries.
Not much to either one of them as neither are invasive procedures. Hope all goes well for you.

My husband has PAD; pretty common diagnosis for a longtime diabetic, and he takes 100 mg of Cilostazol daily for this condition. His was diagnosed in 2010, thru ultrasounds on his legs. The arteries have narrowed slightly, but he still has good blood flow at this point.

I have it, but my Dr. Said to take a statin which I can,t. I have always exercised and still do, lots of wallking, biking, yoga,, weghts. Cholesterol not good, but HDL high and Triglycerides low, yet I have Pad in my left leg.
I,m confused because I do everything right, go figure. Dr. Doing nothing.
How are you being treated, so I can suggest to my Dr. He tested circulation in my leg and said it was good. I have tried statins and they don,t agree with my system..
It was discovered through lifeline Screening test. I brought it to my Dr. He tested my circulation in my foot of the leg and said it was good. He said if he sent me to a Cardiologist I would be told to take a statin.
It worries me, but I feel fine and am able to move around quickly with no problems. My BP is 110/70. Last time 102/70.

I’d go see the cardiologist. It wouldn’t hurt to get another opinion, especially from a specialist.
