Is it safe to order from retail apps? I'm always a little hesitant to do so. I'm not sure why retailers encourage this. It doesn't make me shop more from their site. Thanks in advance.

I LOVE FOOTBALL TOO! Smiley Happy

I order from Amazon and Walmart at least once a week. No problems. I used a credit card to buy a TV channel and got rooked, but my bank took care of it. I had to cancel my card, though, and that's a pain in the patootie! Oh, and there are no problems on eBay either.

I assume profit is larger when ordering online but I may be wrong.

Last night's order was a mistake and I knew it in the back of my lame brain.  Too late to cancel the order.  It's only $33 so if I lose it, it's not going to break me.

@monicakm   "buy a tv channel?"

Care to share which tv channel was for sale?

Re: Ordering from store apps

@lovesfootball.  I would not order from a store ad on social media like Facebook.  I see obviously phony ads all the time from even QVC and Clark's and many from small pop up businesses nobody ever heard of.

Re: Ordering from store apps

I do not use my phone to order anything online, I have none of my credit cards saved on my phone. My boss uses his phone to pay for EVERYTHING, including a cup of coffee when he's wanting one, he has that tap & go down pat! I pay his card each month, and I also replace his card and have fraudulent charges removed as needed...I think the Amex Centurion computer recognizes my phone number...LOL!

Re: Ordering from store apps

Thanks for all of your responses. I never order from Facebook ads because most of them are fake sites but look very real. Is it safe to download a reputable store app and order from it or are there disadvantages to doing so?

Re: Ordering from store apps

Personally I don't want to load my phone down with apps.  If I want to make a purchase or just browse, I go directly to the website.  It is just as easy.

Re: Ordering from store apps

I usually order straight from a legitimate retailer's website. I think there's more information there. There are occasions when additional savings can be made by going through an app. For example HSN has an additional 20% off discount on one item through their app today.

Many a website will have a link to download their app. I would never, never venture onto an app or website found on social media.

Apps are not limited to just phones. Most have versions to use on tablets also.

Re: Ordering from store apps

There is no reason not to download and use a retailer's app.  There is usually an incentive to do so, like free shipping or a coupon only available on the app.  Everything is going that way now due to personalized one to one marketing.
