I would not have any stranger park on my driveway and spend any time working on their car.  They could be checking out your house, your routine etc.  Also, what if they "hurt" themselves and sue you.  You authorized their visit on your property.  I may be skeptical but I was raised in the City and also watch the news .

If you don't know the person, then I wouldn't do it. Our water rates are so high right now,I wouldn't want anymore water use than we use ourselves. DH takes our cars to a DIY place where he uses uo the quarters we collect on our change jar. He hates carrying pocket change, so that's how he gets rid of it. But I digress!
