@Allegheny  ..... Never tried freezing bananas. Another must try item.

Are you in the Pittsburgh area or New York? I spent a wonderful 15 + years in the Canonsburg/Washington area of Pittsburgh.

I have a sweet tooth, I try to stay away from cookies, candy, cakes etc.  I like

Cinnamon graham crackers with a little peanut butter

Fresh (or frozen) strawberries with a dollop of Cool Whip

Any flavor of sugar free pudding with bananna slices and Cool Whip

@Sheila P-Burg

I peel the bananas then cut them in pieces and freeze them.  They are refreshing and eat very creamy while still frozen.

Actually I live north east of Pittsburgh by about 30 miles.  I am not in Allegheny County but Westmoreland.

@Allegheny  Lived in Uniontown, PA for about a year. Went to Greensburg, PA to do most of my shopping. Thanks for the directions.

@Sheila P-Burg

I recently discovered "Hershey's Popped Snack Mix". It has mini milk chocolate bars, pretzels, almonds (not many of those), and chocolate-drizzled popcorn.

I'm not going to pretend it is healthy (like I said, not many almonds lol) but when you are wanting to get your sweet tooth on with some salty goodness thrown in it fits the bill.

@Daisy Sunflower  .... Grapes. Now that is a good suggestion. I forget about them too. And their good for me, right?

@Sheila P-Burg  Not good for everyone...just one grape would send DH and my blood sugar spiking to high heaven. Bananas and mangos are also very high carb/sugar fruits.

We can't eat most fruits...fruit juices are out. On rare occasions DH & I will split an apple or share a mandarin orange serving (2 are 1 serving) with a sandwich for lunch once in awhile...or a handful of strawberries or blackberries, but that's it.

We have also learned we had to cut out snacking too and only eat 2 meals a day. We will have a dessert with dinner 2-3 days a week, but they are low carb/keto options Smiley Happy

Fruit, in a large quantity, is not good for everyone, diabetes or not.

And no matter your own personal dietary requirements, always pair fruit with a protein.  You are more likely to metabolize the sugar immediately, rather than storing it.

SO, apple and cheese or apple and peanut butter--a personal favorite of mine!

A good quality vanilla ice cream, with hot chocolate syrup.
