Does anyone know how much hosts make? I wonder if it is salary plus bonus based on sales.

@fluffysmom I remember reading years ago on some Home Shopping Blog that they can start at 100k, but some of the hosts that have been there longer can make up to 500k.. Not sure about bonuses, but I bet they do. So many of the hosts that are married with children worked while their husbands stayed home with the kids-example: Amy Stran....You have to have a pretty good salary to be able to afford to do that these days!

Better yet, hosts like Jane, Court, and Shawn stay. The newer hosts are not any better. I'm old school, and much preferred Carolyn, Jayne Brown, Sandra, Mary Beth, and Rick.

Q doesn't want old school like you and me.

But they do want our $ though. I could watch Carolyn and maybe buy. Not so with alot of others still there.

@PhillyGirl23When someone is    laid off, in business those employees aren't given a "send off". It's normal business practice. No surprise.

A send off in this case is more like a funeral rather than a happy occasion....

Many years ago when I was laid off, there was no party of any sort.  I had been with the company for about 40 years and I was an officer. They were "eliminating my job".

Re: NO send off for hosts who have been on QVC for 19 + years????

@PhillyGirl23    Four hundred people were laid off.  How would you feel if you were one of them and two people got a big send off and you got nothing?  That is hardly fair or equitable.  Under the circumstances, I doubt Carolyn or Dan would have wanted a big fuss.

Carolyn and Dan were probably the only hosts eligible by age and tenure for retirement and were offered nice retirement packages with incentives.  Some of our other favorite "old timers" are still too young.

I feel especially badly for Carolyn as she, more than any other host, put her whole heart and soul into her job.  She had all sorts of plans for future products.  I'm sure retirement was on her radar but not so soon, so she's somewhat shell-shocked.

Yes, it does seem a callous and cold act by QVC but that's big business in America.  Nobody ever accused them of having a heart.  Look at the thousands of employees with other companies that are discharged by email.

The last company I worked for they called a meeting from the mother ship in New Jersey. You knew something was up and it never was good news. They would tell some people's to go to one room and others to go to another room. Each room was read from a script over the speaker phone. No video or zoom. Either you were in the room that stayed or the room that got laid off. Then you left never to see those people again. Very cold hearted way to do things but then the company was very cold hearted.

Re: NO send off for hosts who have been on QVC for 19 + years????

I am a little surprised at the lack of love for Rosina Grasso!  She absolutely does have a bit of theNew Jersey/Philly girl vibe, but it is nice...not at all nasty or aggressive.  She sort of reminds me of Dolores on the Real Housewives of NJ!  (who I like !)

Steve has been reduced to an eye-rolling toothy grinning carricature on ITKWD.  I hope he soon has an opportunity to show his abilities to do more than point, ooh and ahhh, Mmmmm, thumbs up,  and wave hello and goodbye.

I get to see the newbies who "apprentice"  on the ITKWD shows more than other new hosts who do more fashion, because I watch the kitchen/home shows mostly.

The two previous hosts who were launched via ITKWD are among my LEAST favorite

on QVC.  I am hoping for Steve and Rosina to succeed.  Rosina seems like cooking is a thing for her, so I will likely see her a lot.  I would like for her to take over the other ITKW... show so that I can enjoy that one as well.

As for Carolyn and Dan....

They got pink slips and severance packages instead of thanks and tribute shows, but all the posts and love they are getting on these boards says it all for them.

I wish they could see them.  I hope they get to see some of them.  Much sweeter than

any cake from corporate HQ.

@They Call Me MR Wilkes - thanks for the laugh.  That's a good one.

They were not FIRED!   Using that word in these circumstances is wrong, hurtful and disrespectful.  They were layed off.  There was a "reduction in force" and they were let go.  They didn't get a big send off because they didn't resign voluntarily or retire.  No company treats lay offs like it's something to be celebrated.  There's no cake and balloons when you walk into HR and they tell you it's over. It's done.  Here's your benefit package.  This is 2023.  They said their goodbye and thanked their fans on Facebook.

@chrystaltree   'Laid off'; 'Fired' ---  they are the same thing - you don't have a job.
