Late last night my granddaughter-in-law gave birth to an 8 lb 6 oz baby boy. Mother and baby are doing well and my grandson is over the moon. First thing this morning I went to tell my husband, who's in a nursing home. Despite Alzheimer's and a stroke, he was very much aware of what I told him. I showed him photos and took a picture of him looking at photos of his new great grandson. Then I went home, called my 100 year old mother to share the good news. She too had a stroke but is very much aware of her special status as a great great grandmother.

I have two small grandchildren.  I can not imagine being around long enough to have great grandchildren.  Congratulations!

My second grandchild was born at the beginning of Covid.  My Mom was in and out of the hospital.  There was no way either the hospital or her senior complex was going to let her meet her grandson in person.  So I did take a photo of her, in the hospital, holding a photo of him.  They only "met" in person at my mom's funeral.

Babies are always happy news.  Thanks for sharing!

It's so nice you husband and mom are able to share and be aware of the great news.  I hope they get to meet the baby soon.  How exciting for the whole family!
