Yep Bernie, if you have shuddering in the wheel for sure it has something to do with the brakes. I DREAD when I have to have them done. Now do not yell at me but must ask, if your car is 6 years old, do you not do regular maintenance on it??.  I swear by following regular maintenance - I have a Toyota - my fourth - and they will outlive you IF YOU MAINTAIN them. Took mine in yesterday and it was only $250 - no brake problem yet but he said the rear brakes should be OK until the next scheduled maintenance but to check in if things were shuddering. LOL. I LOVE Toyota's - never thought I would but they are great cars - if maintained.

Another night of no cooking for me - well I did cook night before last but am just not in the mood right now. Busy, busy day.

Hope one and all have had a great day !!

Freddie, my father, bless his heart put me in cars that could have killed me when I was a teenager.  I drove cars that brakes went out, radiators blew and tires were called tires because they were round and at one time had treads on them.  I am not joking, I learned how to control a failing vehicle two weeks after I got my license at the age of 16 when I was driving to school on the freeway and the front tire blew out.

When it comes to cars, I am nothing like my father.  I take my cars for service more than some folks take their kids to the doctor, lol.

The service advisor said a hard stop could warp the rotor and I do recall some nut cutting me off in the last month and I had to stand on the brake pedal to stop the car.  That probably did it.  I was only out $266 and had the oil changed and new front brake pads put on and the rotors smoothed out.

I live by the motto - take care of your car and it will take care of you :-)

@Bird mama  This reminded me of something that happened to me in my early twenties.  I was out with friends, driving my Mother's car, when on the way home on the freeway, the hood practically blew off of the car, talk about bizarre!  One of the guys offered to sit on it, and I told him he was nuts and no way, lol.

The next morning, I was awakened by my Mother's loud voice, as she had gotten up and looked outside or was about to go out, when she saw the car in that condition, thought I had been in an accident, scared her for sure.  So, she had a nice bill on her hands, but it was obviously no fault of mine, thank goodness.

Morning, just stopped by and saw my blank post, yikes, don't know what happened, & of course can't remember what I posted  lol

I once was driving my grandfathers Plymouth & the steering wheel came off in my hands, well let me tell you I about died, was able to brake & stop, left the car, thankfully out of the way of traffic, went home to report, my dad got it in for repairs, never drove that car again.  Somehow we all survived our mishaps, I don't think any of my 4 ever had any of these experiences, think what they missed  hah!

Today will run out to the store, have a hankering for that pea salad, makes a lot so will take it to the neighbor's.

Weather is very iffy, think it'll be a re-run of yesterday, storms on/off, sunshine, hot/humid,  but Monday is supposed to be good, sure hope so as our Parade is always a big event

Hope all are well & have a great week-end

Good Morning my Back Fencers :-)

I was up at 5:45, watched an infomercial about a set of dance exercise DVDs called 'Cize'.  This is from the same guy to did Hip Hop Abs or something like that.  I don't really need to lose weight but I would like a fun way to tone and I like to dance.  I'm going to give it serious thought.  I have a total gym but half the time I don't know if I'm doing the exercises the right way - the DVDs that came with it were useless.  I could use my Powerfit DVDs that were carried a few years ago by QVC however Grayson had a tendency to bug me when I am on the floor trying to work out.  I can't do Powerfit in my basement, ceiling too low.

I watched AM Style until I lost some channels.  Such is life with antenna TV, lol.  I lost the entire ION tv block and there went QVC and HSN.

After AM Style, I cut the grass in the front yard.  Right now I am cooling off in the A/C.  It's warm and a bit sticky, blech.

Re: May 2016 - Back Fence

[ Edited ]

Its been hot and muggy here all day but is raining now abd the smell and sound is wonderful. Just a nice, gentle rai

ive been fooling with my new tv. The old one lost its back light and guess they aren't making them any more. So I bought a smart tv  Should have bought a dumb one.   This one wants to boss me around and so far it is winning.   My grandsons he,led me get hooked up.  Everything looked great until I went to msnbc and discovered it wouldn't give me a full screen.  Then I switched to hallmark and it wouldn't either.     The regular channels are fine.   I called frontier and he said you must have your picture on 16:9.   That is your problem.   Ok.  Dumb me hung up.  Then I went in to settings for my picture only to find out it already was on 16.9.  Argh

i will eventually win this game but need to leave it alone for awhile.   I can't find my edit button on here so hope there are not too many goofs.  I need some sugar

@yock

Betty a couple of years ago I bought an end of year model of an LG smart tv.  Darn thing came with something called a smart wand and not a regular clicker.  I found out that my newer LG dumb tv clicker worked on the smart tv for the basics (channel or volume) so I found a website that sold just various models of LG clickers and bought a spare normal clicker for the smart TV.

TVs are getting complicated.

Good to see you.

Hello all - it's been warm and humid around here.  That's code for "I stayed inside and bummed around", lol.  Well, I did rake the maple tree seed pod things out of the street and off the sewer grate in front of my neighbor's house early this morning.  I did some laundry too.  Other than that, I've been puttering online or watching the tube.  We got a fierce rain and then the sun came out.  I'm not complaining - saves me $$$ when I don't have to water the grass.

I'm sticking this cake in the mini fridge that Freddie and I rigged up with the extension cord.
