...I have no issue with neighbors doing their yard work ANYTIME after 7 am, especially on weekends.

We have people in the back who start playing basketball at 7am on weekends, and their kids do nothing but scream. We are considering what to do about it. My husband wants to be nice. Me, not so much.

@LisaLisaD I think a thumping bouncing basket ball is about the worse. Way worse to me than lawn equipment--which we hear all day Thursday and Friday.

When I worked I was at the Post Office one noon and some old guy kept turning around to me and complaining it was slow.  Finally I said "Sir, are you retired?"  He said yes.

I said I work and I have to come at noon and I'm wondering how come you are here when you don't have to be here the ONLY time I can come? You and half the other people in line here!

He looked sheepish and shut up.

@LisaLisaD Just curious...what CAN you do about it? Sounds like good wholesome fun to me, it's almost summer.

One of the perks of being retired is being able to grocery shop in the morning or early afternoon. I just avoid the after-work crowd and the weekend shoppers at the grocery store. I appreciate my sweetspot of 10am-2pm on weekdays to go to the store.

Neighbours could be so rude, like parking at your spot, doing repairs during holidays like Christmas and New Year all day long, smoking pot day and night, play boom boom music all waking hours, slamming doors like all hell broke loose. Usually there is no end of it. I agree they have no common sense, don't follow rules, and really not nice people.

Believe me, they don't like noise done to them. Lol. I wonder why.

My neighbor set up lights and was shingling his roof way into the night , when they were still hammering on the roof after midnight , l set my car horn off  , car was out in the drive .  The pounding stopped !

What made it even worse , l had been out of town for a few days with my daughter , came back on a friday evening before Labor Day to discover the A/C stopped working , hubby didn't call to get it fixed ,he likes the heat . So with a 3 day weekend , unable to get it fixed for a few days , I had all the windows in the house open , sounded like they were putting shingles on my bedroom walls . Of coarse we had hot weather , it was 87 degrees in my house when the repair guy came .

@judianne Sounds just like my husband!  Our AC went out last Friday.  DH spoke to the repair guy and they determined that a new motor was needed on Monday.

Repair guy ordered one and told us it would be in on Thursday but here it is Thursday and the AC still hasn't been repaired.  Fingers crossed the motor comes in tomorrow and he can come over to replace it since I have a feeling he doesn't work over the weekend.

This Sunday it will be close to 90 and humid....doesn't bother DH at all!

Noise is a nuisance.  A constant banging of a basketball.  The shouts (and cursing) that comes along with it.  I refused to put up a net on our driveway.

They could play street hockey no problemo.

I also decided never again with a pool in the backyard because kids SCREAM the entire time they are in the pool.

Barking dogs are a pain in the butt.  Luckily our neighbors right next door, their dog is quiet.  He just likes to use our yard as....his....
