@Mom2Dogswrote:

So true, my grandma lived to 104.....she had very few health problems, we were blessed to have her for so long...she had lost all her children, 2 husbands, all her son in laws and 2 grandchildren!

@KitTkat...your last line, reminds of a song we used to sing in church, it is so true!  No longer are hymns sung in our church and I really miss those old songs.

@Mom2Dogs

My last line is from an old hymn.  It's chorus is, "many things about tomorrow, I don't seem to understand, but I know who holds tomorrow, and I know who holds my hand." I am the pianist at my church, an old country church, and hymns are all that we do, so I know many old hymns. I love them.

@Sweet_Serenity  How wonderful to still have your Dad at 94.  There are so few of our brave WWII heros still with us.  My Dad was in the Army in WWII.  He passed away in his sleep in 2009 at age 90.  That's the way he wanted it.  I deeply loved my Dad,  who was such a kind, loving, giving and happy man, who had such respect for everyone, whether you were a janitor or the President of a company.

SS....  would you mind if I send your Dad a HUG....?   I have tears in my eyes thinking of how much I miss mine.

@KitTkat....Easter was a huge disappointment at church as far as the music....not one single hymn -all contemporary loud band music.   The members are very talented but just not my style.

@Sweet_Serenity, it is so awesome that your dad is doing so well. How blessed you are to still have him, to still have each other.

Treasure every moment you are blessed to be able to spend with your parents. It is so hard to watch the decline that many go through as they go into their last years.Take every opportunity now to make memories with your dear ones...it is the best gift you could ever give each other.

It's time for you to find a new church. I'm Anglican and many, most Anglican churches have "modernized" the services, not pleasing to me. The one closest to me is among them so I neither attend nor support it financially. I attend the Catholic church instead.

He really is! I'm not just saying that because he's my Father. This coming weekend family get together he's excited seeing his GGC! This morning watching HRH QE on "The Royal Family YouTube Channel" Sir David Attenborough filmed documentary. She reminds me of Dad active, engaged in life. Thank you.🌹
