No matter how long a parent has been gone it is hard.

I remember my mother stating that she missed her mother deeply. My grandmother passed when I had just turned 6 and my mother had just had # 5 child and there were two more yet to come. 

I have had to go through hard situations since the passing of both parents. My father visited me each day I was in the hospital the first time. He came for our favorite college football game as well. I pulled back and let my siblings who do not live in the state or country to spend time with my father and mother at the end. I am the oldest and I have memories of time spent with each and that is a treasure.

I am sorry that you have had to go thru this without your mother. It is not easy. it is always nice to have someone to lay your head on their shoulder. 

If you have children (I do not due to the health issue), they will think of you in that manner.

What a beautiful poem.  The only thing that makes me feel better now is that I know her body was worn out and she is at peace and in a beautiful place with her mother.   So I know she is home and happy.  

I felt her presence so strongly when cleaning the house out.  The smell of her clothing was in the bedroom for a few moments...then disappeared.  There were no clothes in the room.  It was mom.🌹
