Congratulations! Today is also my first official day of retirement after thirty years as a school librarian.  It is exciting to be turning the page onto a new chapter of life, but also a  little bit surreal.  I cannot quite believe that MY library now belongs to someone else and I will no longer see MY kids on a day to day basis. I do have a part time job lined up and am planning to do some volunteer work, a bit of travel, and spend more time with my grandchildren ( seven with one on the way.)  Life is indeed good!

CalmInTheHeart, I wish you the health to keep active, the time to relax, and many more years to enjoy your family. Have fun with that grandbaby!

Congratulations.I have been retired 9 years now and would never go back.However, I do have a volunteer job that I love, 2 hours a day 2 days a week. I've made some friends there and I'm much happier being retired now that I have something outside the house to do. We also belong to the YMCA and spend a lot of time at the gym & pool.

@CalmintheHeart

Sounds like you've got your work (volunteer that is) cut out for you.  Enjoy your retirement and don't forget to keep some time for yourself.  Heart  You'll be surprised at how fast the days go flying by.  But they do.....  Oh, and I see a built-in babysitter in your future.  You will love it.  Smiley Happy
