Re: I really hate FedEx!

[ Edited ]

@chrystaltree  Chewy uses FedEx, and while most of the drivers are great because they carry the heavy boxes to our second floor condo, today's delivery was a wreck. First, he put the box right in front of the door opening so you couldn't even open the door. Secondly, it wasn't in a Chewy box, so it had been reboxed and it was crushed open at the top with the tape just hanging off. I called Chewy and they had a picture of the box since the driver's must do that now. He said, "that box is a mess, and this is unacceptable"! There was several dented cans and one item missing. Chewy is always good about making the wrongs right, but what has happened to FedEx? If I were Chewy, I would switch over to UPS.

This must be a regional thing because FED EX around here is great.  Delivery on time or before time, I get an email and text with a picture of the package on my property, be it out front or around back.  Considerate with the package placement, etc.  My son uses fed ex exclusively for his business and same thing.  He has deliveries all over the country and they arrive on time, with the photo.  If there's an issue, we also get notified.

@chrystaltree  "Today. I got an email saying FedEx tried to deliver and I refused delivery. That did not happen."

Yes it did.

"Last Monday FedEx sent an email telling me to pick up my package. I didn't. I didn't care and it was so hot."

"Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."

@chrystaltree.  You hate FedEx  and so do I.  Every experience I've had with them has been a disaster.  I'm convinced the ability to read is not a requirement for employment there.

Did you get a refund from Walmart?

I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment.  All the delivery companies are horrible.  They just throw the package on the floor in the entryway.

A few years ago the management put a table in the lobby.  This way kind residents can bring things in and put them on the table.  Things are not as likely to be stolen.

Sometimes if I am getting the mail and see a delivery person I will hold the door and ask them to drop it on the table.  Most will do it.

Amazon is the worst! One time a guy came in with a bunch of packages.  I asked him to bring it inside.  He said no my instructions are to leave it here and he dropped the stuff on the floor and left.

It annoys me no end when I get a notice that says "left in mailroom'.  It's a public entry that happens to have mailboxes.

Fortunately for me I am very lucky to have nice neighbors who sometimes bring packages up and drop them at my door.  They know it is not easy for me to carry big things.

I posted a problem I had with fedx about a month ago or so and got a little negative feedback but I got it resolved to my satisfaction. I had a delivery of chocolates to my apartment when it was over 90 degrees and instead of bringing it in the apartment building and leaving it at the mailbox just inside the door the driver left it outside in the heat. The box was marked perishable. My neighbor happened to see the box when she was coming in the building and left it at my door which is just inside the building( I saw her on my ring camera) The chocolates had melted along with the ice in the box. I called Amazon where I placed my order, made a complaint and notified Fedx. I called the no sugar company who sent the order and they replaced my order via Fedx with another driver who delivered my order directly to my door and rang my doorbell. Every other delivery driver whether Fedx, UPS and the Post office comes into the building and delivers packages to the door or leaves it at the general mailbox which is just inside the entrance door of the building. This particular driver was to lazy to bring the package into the building.

Never had an issue.  Sign up for a free Fedex Account and set up your alerts.  I get a text and email in real time when Fedex delivers a package.

The refusal of delivery is referring to your refusal to pick the package from the drop off spot.

We've also had problems with FedEx deliveries from Chewy. The driver will toss the boxes of dog and cat food at the foot of the driveway by the street, leaving them in a heap of broken, open boxes and dented cans, rather than carry them to the door. I've spoken to Chewy's customer service on several occasions about it. They have photos of the delivery messes. They always promise to have one of their supervisors speak to a FedEx supervisor. I've suggested that they switch to UPS.

For a while I cancelled all Chewy deliveries and ordered pet food from Amazon instead because the Amazon drivers always carry everything to the door.
