Re: I need to whine a bit

[ Edited ]

@Imaoldhippie --ok--I will find  you a photo and info. It's a plastic leg covering that covers from toes to knees--that works so great. got it from AMZ for not much money. also---do you have a shower chair too? that saved my bacon and still does even now.

I see someone already mentioned the shower chair but the garbage bag was a colossal mistake for me---it was so much more trouble than necessary

Oh no!  I'm really sorry, @Imaoldhippie.  That sounds awful.  I'm glad your husband was there to help you.

Falling is one of my greatest fears.

When I broke my foot a knee scooter saved me!  I had my husband wrap it with plastic gargabe bags and duct tape when I showered and I sat on an old plastic lawn chair.

Hope its not too serious, it is awful being immobile.

@Imaoldhippie   So sorry you fell.  I bet it does hurt, to bad you have to wait to see the ortho doc.

Sending good thoughts and quick healing.

Last December (2023)  I fell and broke my shoulder.  I am not sure how I managed to get up, grab the leash of my step daughers puppy, get back into the house and drive home!!  Oh my what pain, it felt like my arm was falling off.

The ortho doctor came to my bedside at the hospital.

I had to have surgery, I was glad I had my husband to help me but like you once I figured things out it was nice to do things on my own.

@Imaoldhippie   Awww. Glad you could get a quick ortho appt.  A few years ago, I twisted my knee.  Screwed up for several weeks. PT, ortho, no surgery.  It really is scary with mobility issues.  Hope you get feeling better soon.  I don't think that's whining at all!

My dad fell recently.  Hit his shoulder.  Not broken or dislocated but very painful.  Took a week for an orthopedic appt.  Six hours in the ER.  It's been a long, long week!  And now his lady friend fell yesterday.  It's getting scary.

Still a few patches of ice in the driveway, I'm going back out to salt again.  We had very low temps, the salt should be working.  We are going in the 20's today!

@Imaoldhippie -----ok here it is----cost $15.99--it really works so much better---make sure you do the measuring--that is what my foot/leg looked like.

@Imaoldhippie

Whine all you want! That's terribleWoman Sad

I tore my plantar fascia years ago and was no weight bearing for months and then in the boot for months after that so the knee scootie was my friend. It was great but it is kind of hard to maneuver in small spaces like the bathroom, etc so for that I had to use crutches.

You don't appreciate things like just walking around until it's suddenly gone.

I wish you well! Let your husband take care of you.Woman Happy

@kaydee50 --yes you are lucky nothing was broken--my ankle was severely broken in those 2 two bones----had surgery and now have plates and screws still in mine. It's been a long road to recovery but am there --mostly--still have days of achiness  but can do all my normal stuff. ---I did have the boot too, but only a splint and no cast right after surgery. and living on the 2nd floor with a bum ankle--OMG-----I deserve a medal!!!!
