@Love my grandkids ..........I have to write things down or I forget too.  I think you should call the doc's office and ask them if you need any follow up.  I did not mean to offend.

@Luvsmyfam ... I'm a little confused about your medication. One a day for six days?? I've taken it before for inflammation but l don't remember the dosage but I took it for a week. It was probably one a day for six or seven days. It didn't bother my sleep.

I just read that the doctor wants to see you in two months. He probably forgot to put it on your chart to make an appointment in two months. He probably wants to know how the prednisone worked and how your wrist is feeling and if you've needed to use your splint.

l think this is a good idea. Maybe he just wants to see you one more time.

@EastCoastGal,
OP was prescribed a medrol dose pack, which tapers the steroid dose from high to low over the course of a week.

If my Dr prescribes medication, there will be a follow up appt., even just for his CYA coverage.

If OP didn't start till yesterday with the Pred, it may not be helping too much-- yet.

But she has 5 or so days to go with script.  Hopefully, she starting to feel a little better otherwise.

Prednisone is the drug that if taken too long or too much gives some people that *Moon Face*.

@Luvsmyfam    I've never heard of steroids being prescribed for long term nerve pain.  Did he issue refills or just the one prescription?  You may have to address this with your regular doctor if this doesn't help.  I know this has been hurting you for a while.

I receive a medicine called gabapentin I take at night for some pain caused by nerve damage.  It's really helped me a lot with it.  Also, if you feel like your ortho Dr is one of the type who are basically done after surgery etc., see if your regular Dr will refer you to a different one.  This happened to me one time with a GI Dr. ❤️

I take Gabapentin for my back pain. I used to wake up 2-3 times at night because of the pain and I no longer wake up due to pain. Today I had an injection on my spine (was completely under) and I start therapy on Monday for 8 sessions. I was given muscle relaxers Baclofen to take as needed and Diclofenac as needed for pain.

Im hoping the therapy helps and I won't need the surgery.
