@TX-starlight

My best wishes to your friend and her husband with their struggles, and you for caring about them.

Just spoke with a friend of mine going back to the 1960's(he is 74) that moved to Arizona several years ago. He played in my adult hockey league, actually helped me start it in 1963, to see how he was doing.

He had some physical issues related to his many years in Masonry. Left a voice mail over a week ago and it's not like him to not call me back, so called again today. Anyways, we got talking about some of our medical issues.

He is having hip/shoulder and back issues now, I too have had major back surgeries and torn rotator cuff, but no hip issues. I told him to hang in there with his rehab and think nothing but positives.

He asked how I was doing and I told him GREAT, and I haven't been this healthy and physically fit for close to 15 years. I told him I am even amazed at how much I am physically able to do, and my ice skating is just as strong and fast as it was over 30 years ago.

You and your friend(s) are much younger than me, but at your ages I was battling some life/death issues, so I do relate to a lot of it. Yes, I am thankful my body and my mind have cooperated with my effort, and allowed me to be able to honestly say this to my friend of decades, even though he is a long way from our home.

We have never lost touch with each other and he has come back to town around the Christmas Holidays to see his brother's and his son's families. Last time he was here he was having inner ear and balance issues, and also had 1 of his shoulders replaced.

You are a great friend to have and I just wanted to tell you about my conversations with my good friend today. And! I see you as a youngster.      =^..^=

@lovesrecess,

Best to pay attention to that "tapping". Unfortunately many physical issues can be caused by some bad choices along the way of aging. "Use it or lose it" or "your body does not WEAR OUT it RUSTS OUT"!

Sometimes seeing others problems is what we need to wake us up.
