@Jtdmum wrote:Being the owner of a PittBull I'd be proud.
Wonderful, loving dogs. Wouldn't have any other breed.
And..BTW...Why would you care what they call you, your dog, or anyone else?
Small minds...
@Jtdmum My son has a PittBull & she is a delight, she is a big part of our family & he feels the same way as you, wouldn't have any other breed. Although he does love all dogs!

@Jackhound Mom I think your neighbor is crazier than your street. Just ignore her & she'll go away, she has the problem, not you or your precious little dog!

Your neighbor sounds crazier than her dogs...I guess they are a reflection of her personality.I would just tell her thanks for staying back...my dog hasn’t eaten yet.

@Jackhound Mom Maybe the woman is losing her mind or something.
I live next to the same neighbor lady 16 years now. She was invited to my wedding. In 2007 she started acting nutty in the spring, after my husband died. My sister would come over as a nanny for my old dog Max and the neighbor would come into her yard every time my sister had Max in the yard and say inappropriate things.
By summer, when I would come into the yard and sit, cross legged in the grass watching Max meditate about life, she would run into her yard, rush the fence call me an Indian squaw and would upset my dog - I'm talking about a dog that was nearly 15 years old.
I couldn't have loved that dog more if I gave birth to him myself. I reached out to her daughter by phone and instead of calling me back, the daughter callled her mother and told the woman about the call which inspired more screaming.
I visited the local police station for advice and was told, well, well people get old......
My choice was losing my temper one day, hopping that chain link fence and ...... or installing a privacy fence.
The fence was installed in less than a week.![]()

I just would ignore this person. You have better things to do. Kindness kills. Answering fans the fire. Obviously this person has issues, don't be one of them.

Ok, so she's a werido but I think it's weird that it bothers you so much. Which is why she does it and won't stop! You are giving her whatshe wants. No, it wouldn't have bothered me one bit since that werido and I aren't friends. I never would said a word or gave off any signals, I'd have just looked past her and gone on my way. I also don't see anything offensive or insulting about pit bulls. If she called you Pomeranian...would you have the same reaction?

i dont think it would bother me (and we have a pitbull in the family.) it sounds like your dog was given a "nickname" that rubs you the wrong way. probably just best to ignore it as much as you can if it is bothering you. if you dont wish to ignore it you can always just ask that they not use the words anymore because it bothers you.
it is almost like someone calling a tall person "shorty" ......someone giving your dog an opposite name of how they really are.

I really don't think your dog minds whatever he/she is called as long as he/she is loved and played with.

This neighbor is just plain mean. She is getting a kick out of annoying you. Your reaction is the payoff.
I think you should just ignore her. And don’t worry about changing your feelings of irritation. Just don’t let her see them. She won’t have anything to feed on.
