Re: Holiday Spirit with Friends

@hullie   Finger wiggling  is great! I'm glad they work. I wish I'd had those hand sleeves when I broke my wrist! I used plastic bags taped on. It was in a plastic cast.
Everyone: I went to get canned Pepsi or cokes at Food Lion rather than 2 for $10 they were $7.99 on sale each. prices are high. Aluminum cans I guess.

I went to Aldi and got a large case of water. And orange juice. Then helped my son awhile while he took Tony walking. He was a sleepy  dog today.
Then I got more pills at the Vets due to coming holidays. It was only 44 today. We've had many walks today. Two neighborhood kids about 8 were playing and petted her. They were excited about the Christmas lights and anticipating Christmas. Snickers loved them. I hope to give her a bath tomorrow.

Re: Holiday Spirit with Friends

@1Snickers , Coke or Pepsi is the same price here, but you have to buy three cartons to get that price. The prices have not gone down since Covid.

Everyone, it is 85 degrees here today. This weather pattern is expected to continue all week. Very unusual. I ordered our enchilada platter today, and we will pick it up Wednesday.  We also plan to get tamales at a tamale factory.

Happy holidays. 41f21b32930ed38dad6eecefb7d4628c.jpg

@mousiegirl   Happy birthday in advance (before I forget it tomorrow,) 🎂🍨  I saw on the news last night all the rain in California. I hope it's over soon for y'all!
everyone:  With my DH gone and he was the cook I only buy things to eat.  I usually did desserts but am WAY out of practice.
My son's friend is baking a delicious heavy cheesecake. He's known him since college and  came for breakfast last Christmas.
We will have Christmas Eve dinner, lasagna or spaghetti casserole my xDIL cooks. Then party poppers. My son works Christmas Eve so he will pick me up about 5. Then on the way home drive by beautiful houses in his area decorated expensively. It's a guided light show on the car radio.
Christmas is at his house early about 10 and they come to my house that night for a few packages. All day fun!
       I hope I survive.

@Sweet Caroline 1   Be careful playing with the Husky. I had a 108 lb Alaskan Mallamute I walked . I couldn't do it now. She would knock me down playing.
Tony is gently with me but when the kids or my son get him excited he is strong and will put his paws on my shoulders and jump up. It's easy to loose your balance.
My Krypto pulled my down backwards on a hill and I broke two bones in the right wrist ans had surgery. He was only 18 lbs. Maybe slow gentle petting is better with Christmas excitement. I put Snickers in her room when company comes which isn't often. Just saying!

Thank you @1Snickers for the advice.  Calam is afraid of the Husky hurting her painful and frail body.  My niece said that she has a kennel.  I hope that I don't regret any future Christmas gatherings.  I have pledged to avoid anything that causes me unhappiness or stress.  I hope that I'm not making a mistake by going. Smiley Indifferent

@1Snickers   Thank you!

The first cheesecake I ever made was a New York cheesecake, dense and heavy, but delicious.  Since then, I have made lighter, not in calories, I am sure, and do not make them often anymore, but when I was young, I made all sorts.  For one party, I made three different kinds and they were a hit.

Your coming get together sounds like fun, so have some, lol.
