They are hideous. Both my grandkids have one, both in their 30s. I didn't bring it up but googled the meaning. It varies quite a lot. What does it mean to you? I'd hate to have that thing ripped off my face. Big ouch.

I don't care for them either.  They must be a statement of some sort.  I can't imagine anyone thinks a nose ring improves their appearance.  A bull's nose ring always comes to mind.

They just look so unsanitary but to each their own.

I also don't like the diamond studs on the side of the nose faux or real they're ugly.

Also, don't like the metal piercings hanging from the eyebrows.

Also, don't like the oversized holes in the earlobes that also look absolutely hideous.

Well, alternative sites for rings and piercing are not my cup of tea, but to each his own. It is difficult to look at. I think about all the times I've seen medical reality TV where folks are getting their earlobes reshaped after removing those huge disks (sorry, can't remember what they are called)

Maybe you should ask about them........not in a judgemental way but more curioslity.......do they hurt, how do they clean them, do they wear them all the time etc

@frenchie I don't like nose rings either.  I applaud you for not saying anything.

I remember the singer Jane Child from the 1990s whose signature look included a nose ring attached to an earring.

That always seemed quite precarious to me.

Desecrating one's face is the big middle finger to parental rules, to societal rules and for whatever other cause they would like to include from deep inside the recesses of their childish minds.

Something only Satan himself would do, not a happy child and not a happy adult.

I find facial piercings very distracting.

My sibling had her nose pierced when she was in her 50s.  It was a complete "look at me" thing for her.

I don't care for any facial piercings but love ear piercings - even many multiples.

But Satanic?  I wouldn't go that far.  And even to say the person is unhappy is not only extreme but there's no way for one to know this necessarily.
