@ShanusThey know because people went & notified them. They talked to the Bishops in their churches & had them receive word about what was going on. Human life does not seem to mean much to them like if they have a child die they just have another.

My DH just showed me a meme that is gaining popularity. It shows a large swimming pool and says, “Some states in lockdown and some states not in lockdown is like having a peeing section in the swimming pool.” Funny but sad and true.
I have been seeing more and more articles about the devastaion that rural America will suffer when it hits their communities. There is limited access to healthcare, small hospitals have gone bankrupt and even if present would not have the ability to cope with an outbreak. I feel sorry for this community and hope their elected officials will get with the program and protect their citizens. You can’t rewrite history when people have seen the bodies. I was an RN and my son and dil are on the front lines in this. It is real and tragic and denial doesn’t cut it.

@ECBG wrote:WOW! We need high fines! They could partically fund umemployment with money from some "nuts" out there!!!
Because of the danger to others, maybe mandentory innoculation when they get enough proven serum? Remember sugar cubes and polio?
"Your rights stop where my nose starts!!!"!
@ECBG You really can't legislate stuff like this. It's sad but you can't make people be safe. You read every day about people dying from DUI, mountain climbing, and doing all sorts of things.
And society today has even less tendency for people to be cautious. That idea is no longer built into society. This may or may not be a wakeup call.
And anyway, people pretty much ignore the law now.

@CLHS68 How can you make that statement about their children? Have any facts or data?

@Shanus I have seen it first hand. I had family members who were Amish & I worked for a while with some of them. They are not all like that but some are. There are good & bad same as anyone else. I don't like people putting them on pedestuls. They are just better at hiding their misdeeds.

There are some mean people out there. A friend of mine was in a store in my area and these two women in their mid 20's (was on the news) came in coughing in the employees saying they had the virus. They ran out of the store and a an employee ran out to get their license # and one of the woman pepper sprayed the employee. The cops did find them and now have to appear in court. These two have had issues with the law before.
Another friend was at Aldi's and a young girl was on her phone standing in line to cash out. An older gentlemen wearing a mask asked her if she could step back some. She told him she didn't care about it. He said well I do so please move back. She went off on him with the "f" word and she was escorted out. What is wrong with these people??

Unless everyone faces stiff and quick consequences? They will continue to do what they do. Even losing a friend, to some, wouldn't register to them. Sad, but I see as true!

I am not being flip or rude to the Amish, but I wonder if they realize how dangerous a time this is. I am not sure how much news they get.
