Heartbreaking but Important

The CNN website has an article about some of the many people who have died of Covid19. The people came from all over our country; all had valuable lives and are now lost.

I was upset not only because of the sadness about each person lost but also because a friend who lives on the west coast told me today that many people are ignoring the shelter-in-place rule as well as the 6-feet-apart rule. An acquaintance of hers flies to visit his family in Chicago twice a month. He's a travel agent but there's nothing business-related about his trips. they are planning a huge family Easter party. My friend has heard of children's parties and other get-togethers. As she said, it's these inconsiderate people who will cause others to be stricken. Do they need someone they love to die before they understand?

We have a ton of Amish here & they won't listen. Still continue with weddings & such. I had one totally in my face while getting groceries because she could not wait & leave a safe distance.

Yes.

It's a mindset thing for some people. Until they see something close to home or have a personal experience with something, it's not real. That works for some things, but it doesn't work for an infectious virus. If it's close to home, you're too late.

Heartbreaking and tragic; just heard a 6 week old infant passed away in CT from the virus.

I can't imagine why people just don't understand the severity of this pandemic.

WOW! We need high fines! They could partically fund umemployment with money from some "nuts" out there!!!

Because of the danger to others, maybe mandentory innoculation when they get enough proven serum? Remember sugar cubes and polio?

@ECBG There are fines. At least around here. The ones that break the rules don’t care and I doubt if they pay the fines.

May be difficult to believe that some people don't have any idea there's COVID 19. Amish do not have TV, internet, not much contact with outside world...maybe not enough to be aware.
