I buy my grocer's store brand vinegar and it works just fine and is a lot less expensive. If you prefer Heinz or other upscale brands, then you'll pay for that name! When I compare the Heinz to the store brand, I see no difference in the color or the clarity.

I just bought some white vinegar again and the price had gone up 60 cents since I had purchased it about two months ago. Hubs uses it to clean our dehumidifier. Everything at the grocery store has gone way up in price, but i stilll get sticker shock...I get the cheapest white distilled vinegar I find at Kroger; it's a quart size and over a dollar less than Heinz.
