My second beagle, Allegra, chewed on everything when she was a pup. She destroyed our custom made couch, our pine dinette set, and one of my mother's most precious possessions. Allie and I were visiting Mom when I realized one morning that I didn't know where Allie was. Suddenly I heard a familiar sound, a combination of growling and ripping. I ran toward the sound and found Allegra Belle chewing my mother's most beloved, albeit old, slippers. Actually, she destroyed one slipper but my mother had to throw out both slippers. She (Mom) was not happy.

Wonderful old trunk but I'm afraid that the seller is actually mistaken about the trunk being Domed, it isn't .  I own a large Domed trunk and a small one.  Your trunk was specifically designed for traveling because it could be stacked with other trunks on a ship or on a train and it took up less room when stacked.  The domed version couldn't be stacked  (trunks would slip off the Dome).... but looked great otherwise. 

Enjoy your trunk, it's one I would have definitely been interest in buying myself had I seen it.... it's really great!

I should have qualified my post saying that the picture may not be showing a small dome. If one's there, it's not as large as they became in the later part of the 1800's.....
