Re: HATS OFF TO DELIVERY PEOPLE

@spumoni99   My guess is that the bathroom is right at the top of the stairs.  The door was in the way when the sofa was carried up and needed to be turned around to get down the hall way.

My new couch arrived today and I must say drivers who delivered worked so hard and so carefully not to scuff any walls. They had to go up several stairs and ended up taking my bathroom door off.It was touch and go at first, but they figured it out and everything worked out.

I hope Lazyboy pays these very hard workers a decent living..They certainly earned it!

@Luvsmyfam   Maybe not my business but I always tip them well especially in a furniture situation.

Re: HATS OFF TO DELIVERY PEOPLE

I have to give the Amazon delivery guys a little praise. I usually meet them if I see them coming down our long driveway. I don't think I've ever met one who  wasn't nice and polite and seemingly happy! Even in rain and snow and humid weather. And they probably have to get every pkg. on the truck/car delivered by the end of the day. No pressure!

I had a small three team of movers do several family moves for us.  Last fall, I even asked them to come and move large pieces, when I decided I wanted a bedroom and office swapped.  So wonderful.  I always tip well.

We first learned about them when we needed a small move to an independent living facility.  I recommend them to many.  And the nicest three guys come each time.  Owner and two of his workers.

Reminded me to freeze some bottles of water for them. Above temps. UPS came after six p.m. yesterday which is late. The drivers then  have an hour drive to the UPS loading city.

One had a van and I asked what happened to the truck and he said the van was more comfortable to drive on the back. Sometimes I walk out to help get my pkgs. so they don't have to walk as far. Usually like some human conversation.

@UpNorthGorgy I'm sure they appreciate that too.

Re: HATS OFF TO DELIVERY PEOPLE

our UPS man is wonderful !  I get msny packages and he is lugging them up our long driveway in all weather and always with a smile and greeting !   My hubby will often go down to the trunk and help him carry them .
in the hit summer months we always hsve either a cold bottle of water, Roar , or another sports drink .   If raining g or bad weather and we are nit home he ties the pack up in a plastic bag.

I get a medication that ships overnight and needs to be kept cold so in the summer months he has us text him so he's aware that it is in his delivery for that day and will make it a point  to drop it off early so it's not in his hint truck  all day ,   as he usually comes late afternoon.

we give him a generous tip at Christmas ,  he deserves it !
