Oh yes it is a wealthy community for sure! Even outside of GLP, this area is beautiful. You'll be right by Mystic, I recommend visiting the Mystic Aquarium and the Mystic Seaport. The Seaport is a quaint recreation of a colonial maritime village on the Mystic River. There are old time houses, colonial gardens, a refurbished whaling ship, and a steam boat that does river cruises (though I'm sure of the winter schedule for the steam boat). My niece is one of the tour guides, she sometimes works in the blacksmith shop!

 

The beautiful village of Stonington is just beyond Mystic, and of course we have the two casinos, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Both have fabulous restaurants and are fun places to visit. Foxwoods in particular is beautiful - everywhere you go, there are scenic views of the forests through all the plate glass windows.

 

Even though I live on "the poor side of town," I love living here.
