Re: Good Friends Are Like Springtime

I saw this recipe on FB yesterday morning and made it today.  Our kitchen smells heavenly.  Jason loved it especially warm.

Homemade Apple Cinnamon Swirl Loaf

Ingredients:
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
2 apples, peeled and chopped (any variety)

For the Old-Fashioned Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk

Directions:
Preheat oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a loaf pan.

Prepare the cinnamon sugar: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and set aside.

Cream the butter and sugar: Beat softened butter and white sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs and vanilla.

Mix in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.

Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.

Fold in apples: Stir in chopped apples gently.

Layer and swirl: Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar, then add the remaining batter and cinnamon sugar on top. Swirl with a knife.

Bake: Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and glaze: Let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Whisk powdered sugar and milk, then drizzle over the loaf once completely cooled.

Servings: 8-10

Re: Good Friends Are Like Springtime

Hey there @mousiegirl,   Yes, AT&T has been overcharging me and should refund me all of the overage but at this time they are keeping part of the money owed to me.  It seems like their books wouldn't balance with too much money taken from my checking account.  It is so hard for me to understand some foreign accents, especially when they speed talk.  I should call back and try again to get my full refund due to me.  Always something!  Hugs!

Yes @AnikaBrodie,   I remember the Ed Sullivan Show.  Back in those days, many stars had variety shows and our family watched them.  Jackie Gleason, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Red Skelton, Milton Burle, Andy Williams and many more.  Also, good movies were shown on weekend nights.  I miss good movies being shown on tv.  Hugs!
