We give/spend more money on adult children, little less on older grandkids and less on the little ones.  We have a dollar amount we spend every year...and never go over that amount.

We quit birthday gifts to the married granddaughter and the 19 year old granddaughter...never got a thank you.  We decided after her (19 year old) high school graduation we were done with birthdays.

We don't need to be gushed over but a thank you is important and necessary at our house.

I give my girls, their husbands and my two grands the same or very similar gifts of equal value.  And also my nephew, his wife and their little girl who are living with us for time being.  We're close to all of them but we would do it that way even if weren't.

Among Friends sounds to me like it would be for more person things, like family/friend/health/financial issues and not to discuss things like shopping or QVC hosts.

Anyway, I was wondering how grandparents feel about distribution of Christmas gifts of money to children and grandchildren.  Do you give the same (as i have always done), regardless of being completely snubbed in some lives more than others?

@cddh

my mom gives each of her kids one gift and one check.....all the same amount.

she gives each of the grandkids one gift and one check......all the same amount.

for birthdays, everyone gets a check or cash.

she really is generous to all of us all year long.
