As I have already said at least twice...lol...MOST people are paying $82.99 as a flat fee according to the YouTube TV Community FB page. I never said ALL people. $82.99 is the base price. If you are taxed on these services where you live, then you would be taxed on alternate streaming platforms. A person would still compare base price to base price knowing that taxes will be added. It's not rocket science.

I dumped cable 18 years ago and never looked back. I had a satellite until last year when I switched to streaming. I currently stream through DirecTV but am keeping my eyes open for a better deal.
The best part about streaming is that the wires are underground and I don't lose tv as often as I did with satellite.
I must admit that streaming has more limited functionality than satellite and cable but I have found ways around it that work for me.

@ciao_bella wrote:Presently have had cable tv for decades but my adult son has convinced me I can get all the same channels (on my older tv in the bedroom) I have now and more. The Google TV Streamer didn't work well on my tv, so he hooked up an Amazon Firestick. I'm really impressed so far with all that I get on that Firestick plus just pushing a button and telling it to play whatever I want be it 'Live TV or streaming Netflix or a tv series, or even QVC, HSN, etc.
He told me he would set up an inside antenne ($15) so that I can still get certain news stations that I like to watch that aren't available on the Firestick.
Anyone else use the Amazon Firestick?
We've been wanting to drop cable for years. We have Comcast cable and internet. If we drop cable, our internet sky rockets. My husband works in IT and mostly works from home and he's very nervous to change to a different provider, worrying about service, etc. The only other company in my area is AT&T and most don't have good things to say about them. I really wish we could dump cable too.

so a couple days ago after much research, I tweaked my streaming services. Always looking for the most bang for the buck, right? My greatest "need" and interest is sports. I don't care about most entertainment channels. The services with the widest array of channels cost the most and would be a big waste of money.
I cut down to Sling Orange- gives me ESPN, TNT, TBS which are important to my sports viewing. A total of 28 channels or something. $45/mo.
Then I discovered that FuboTV offers RSNs ( regional sports networks) so I will finally be able to watch Tampa Bay Lightning hockey.
This is a two channel package for $30/mo.
Im a happy excited camper!!
Had to give up a few channels i liked, to put this affordable tailor made plan together.
Can't have everything eh. All good 👍

@LizzieInSRQ I don't think Peacock shows it live though. It's On Patrol Live now, not Live PD. A&E apparently owns Live PD which is all re-runs. And after dumping the show, they sued Dan Abrams for reviving it on Reelz. It's why I won't watch A&E.
I do watch a lot of NatGeo's Smuggled and sometimes Trafficked.
@Icegoddess Dan Abrams is still on A&E with a show called Taking the Stand. I watch it every week. Strange they sued him over one show, and he's still on the network with another show.

@DJs mom I think Live Rescue is still on A&E too, which is an off-shoot of LivePD. And there was another courtroom related show which, I think, is different than Taking the Stand altthough I've never seen Taking the Stand. That show was videos of croutroom drama like someone trying to escape by jumping from the balcony or trying to attack the judge. I'm not sure if it is still there or not.
I do find it odd too and I have no idea if the case has been heard or settled or what.
Sticks, though no longer a regular on Patrol, still shows up on occasion. However, he started his own Police show on Fox Nation.
