You've received some great ideas. As I have said before-we just don't do pot lucks anymore.

I appreciate all the replies.  You can not make everyone happy when it comes to serving food (or much of anything else)

- I am not skiddish about much of anything but will think about his classmates on what I decide to do.

thanks

@Iwantcoffee  I love your waffle cup idea. Looks so nice, and solves the "group" eating problem.

I think the fruit and cheese tray is a fabulous idea.  I would ditch the cookies and include an assortment of crackers.  As for utensils, I would take plastic forks and knives.  I never heard of anyone who objected to plastic utensils at a gathering like that.

@chrystaltree ...I have no problem using plastic either.

I like the waffle cone idea, too.  Another option would be those sturdier, large cupcake liners that are more like cardboard than flimsy paper.  Tons of options on Amazon.  Maybe something in the school colors would be nice.

P.S., Amazon also has disposable paper ice cream cups, lots of colors and prints.  Might be even better.

@LdyBugz   Those cups are so cute.  I am not an amazon shopper so I never would have seen the idea.....tons of choices.

thanks!

@Mom2Dogs

It might be fun if you could find the cups, bowls, platter or utensils in his class colors!

The men will use their fingers, stick the fruit in their mouths, and use their fingers again no matter what you put out to keep people from touching the food.  I've seen it time and time again.
