My husband is attending in a class reunion soon...very informal (and small class) at a classmates home. They have decided to have pizza and salad catered and then threw out the suggestion that if anyone wanted to bring some finger food, that would be fine.
I told my husband I would makes some cookies and I also thought I could take a fruit/cheese platter...question is ...what utensil, if any should I take for the fruit...do you think people will just use their fingers?
Grapes, strawberries etc would be on the platter. I sure don't want to stick a tooth pick in each piece of fruit, a spoon won't work. I am thinking small tongs...
Any suggestions?

@Mom2Dogs I think small tongs - think ice tongs - are a good idea. Also, you can buy little containers of good toothpicks that you can sit on the tray. My grandchildren also like those cute little silvery forks they sell in the party aisle at the grocery store. I don't know how the reunion folks would feel about them.

@PA Mom-mom Oh, I never thought about those fancy toothpicks - I figured small tongs were best but I will add the tooth picks as well.
I'll check out that aisle at the dollar store - they always seem to have those 'unusual' itmes.
thanks

There are more elevated pucks available. Some even come in seasonal decorations.
I like the small appetizer forks, but realize some may have a problem with disposable plastics. There is a type, sort of a cross between forks and picks. They're made of bamboo.

Bamboo forks, not plastic. On Amazon if you can't find them locally.

I am not sure what fruits you intend to put on the platter, but I would buy two large plastic serving spoons to put on the platter next to small paper bowls and plastic spoons. In the age of covid/flu I am careful when there is a large offering that everyone can help themselves.

Serving spoons and/or tongs.

One option to avoid this is individual servings so everyone is not handling the same spoons or taking time to place small pieces on a plate. For fruit you could do kabobs or cups
These are waffle cups

With COVID, I don't like group sharing of serving utensils. The little forks, plastic or bamboo, or dressy tooth picks, mini tongs from Amazon and waffle cups are better.

These are another option. I also love the little waffle cups another poster, IWANTCOFFEE, suggested.
