I heard there's no tipping in California restaurants, is this true?

Thought I would ask people living there for the truth.

This is news to me.  I haven't heard anything about it and the past few times I was out (within the last week), it was tipping as usual.

@Sunshine Kate   Not only is there tipping still going on, it's everywhere, from the coffee shop to the fast food restaurant. 

I wish it was like Europe, where the tip is already added to the price of the meal so you didn't have to think about it.
