Hate when that happens. We've been having thunderstorms off and on all morning and I always worry about that happening. Glad things are back to normal for you.

@Group 5 minus 1    Okay, I'll ask, why did it go off?  That's what would make this newsworthy.

There was an outage in this county yesterday that affected only the mall, which kept it from opening.  Power was not restored by dark and was estimated to be restored by 2:00 this afternoon.

We had sun and clear skies yesterday; no rain or storms.

Re: Power is back on

[ Edited ]

I live in the Madison County District in Kentucky. We started getting alerts on our TV that there was a severe thunderstorm heading our way. Around 11 PM, the wind started blowing and then the hail came. It felt like your house was going to be torn to pieces. I live alone and ran in my closet.

The hail broke two windows and damaged the siding on my house. There was glass in my living room and kitchen area. The blinds on the windows were all torn. I called my son and was a nervous wreck. He came down around 12:30 am. My daughter in law and son helped me clean up the glass and water. My son put plastic over the broken windows and put a blanket cover on the inside of the windows. The blinds were shattered. I never loss power. I thought for sure I was going to die. I am still very distraught.

My DIL's parents live in the same area. Their house loss power. Their RV was damaged and their front office had severe damage. The computer was broken and water was allover their office.

All in all, I hope this doesn't occur again. It is beyond frightening.

@elated

I am so very sorry you had to go through that and thank God your son lives close.  I am in the same boat living alone and storms are scary. Closest kid 2 hrs away, others in So Cal and other in WA state.  I live near Dallas and we get bad storms.  I am keeping you in my prayers.

@elated I am so sorry you had to endure this ordeal. Getting into your closet was the right decision. No need to risk being injured by breaking glass. I hope your get a speedy resolution to your repairs and never have to endure that kind of storm again.
