@eddyandme Use a toothpick & poke in the middle of the silver paper. From the middle you can now peel off all around the opening.
You can also use the sharpest thinner point on a pair of small scissors, a small knife w/a pointed tip to puncture the cellophane/silver paper.
Thanx @Mz iMac - toothpick makes sense!!!

@Mz iMac well that's good advice in most cases. I do poke that silver thing and try to peel off, but many times it's glued on, you can't budge it. Just yesterday, what a mess. Poked a hole in the silver seal, tab wouldn't even budge. Couldnt lift the silver edge to pull off, got a knife. We couldn't even scape it off. It's glued tight to rim edge!! And not with like that rubber cement type glue that peels off. It was like melted into plastic. This has happened before. Makes a mess to pour contents out

I save all "regular" jar and bottle tops.
You can actually use them on those "child proof" things that you need to squeeze here and press there to get open.

Yes! I realize for safety reasons they put all this plastic stuff around bottles, etc., but my goodness, it's really difficult to get some of this stuff off! I buy a good bit of things at drugstores and it's really hard to get the plastic removed.

I'm glad products are tightly sealed. I don't trust people and want to know my no one tampered with the products. Yes, I have issues opening them too but a scissors blade does the trick.
