I've always been a fan of Eric Clapton. Really enjoy his music. I was lucky enough to see him in concert in the 80's and it was outstanding. Recently came across a song, a duo, with Pavarotti, "Holy Mother." Beautiful. Just Google or go to YouTube.
I was a huge fan of Clapton's until I read about certain comments he made. They turned me off. I refuse to support someone who doesn't respect all people.
Not my favorite musician, but I think some of his lyrics are great. His beliefs are his to own so I'm not judging him on anything but his music. I do, however, wish actors, athletes and anyone with a big following (and no expertise)would stay off theur soap boxes - it tends to upset one side or the other. Stick to what you are good at.
There was a program abt his life a few yrs ago . His childhood was so sad, with him being raised by his Grandparents . He was always going from one band to another which kept him growing as a musician . The he survived years of addiction , only to have his 4 yr old son fall out of a NYC window to his death in 1991 . I remember back in the day hearing of this when it happened . He wrotes Tears in Heaven . He gained sobriety and cofounded an addiction center called Crossroads Centre in Antigua to which

Keep in mind that there are a lot of certain people who you might be very surprised to hear about that have made racist comments in the past....I cannot mention who they are due to community guidelines.
