So far, I've encountered self checkout at Sams, Walmart, and the grocery store.  

I don't use it unless the lines are really, really long and when I did, I didn't like it.

I like them. I have never had to wait in the self serve line at Sam's. I do have to wait in line at the grocery store. But it is so much quicker to check out. I don't have to take the items out of the cart. I zap and go.

I've used it, but prefer not to.  I always end up having some kind of issue and the person for the area is helping someone else or doing something else.  It causes me too much aggregation.

Absolutely not.   What next ....  are they going to expect customers to help unload the trucks?   

A couple times I got stuck in a long line at Walmart ... only one cashier open and the employees kept trying to get customers to check themselves out.  Both times I asked an employee to call the store manager because I wanted to talk to him.  When he arrived, I really let him have it .... politely.   I said this is a poor excuse for "good customer service", and he needed to open at least one more register for all these loyal customers .... or don't be surprised is we all just leave our carts right here and walk out of the store.   I actually got applause!  LOL

Some might think I overreacted, but it's not right when you stand in a checkout line longer than it took you to do your shopping all around the store.  It's just not right.   JMO

When they pay me or take a percentage off the bill.  I keep thinking how much money they are saving by having customers check out and bag their own groceries.  

I haven't seen prices go down as they save money by not hiring more employees.

I've never used the self-service check out.  I go when the stores are. less busy so long lines aren't an issue.

Yes, especially if I only have a few things in my cart or basket. It's convenient for us at times.

I always use self check out. That way I can check prices and pack 

the bags the way I want!

I use self-checkout all the time.  I pump my own gas, too, so why not check out my own shopping?  I find it convenient and quicker than getting in a long line of other customers.

I use them  once in a while but only if I have a few things and no coupons, I figure they like to keep those lines moving fast. But sometimes I can't help but wonder if it takes away jobs from cashiers and I don't like that idea.
