I have to say I hate texting. I prefer an actual phone conversation, but, it seems these days everyone just wants to text. We are becoming a society of closed off people. I guess you can tell I am no spring chicken - 73, to be exact. I really miss the days of my youth.

I'm 76 and for certain things texting works for me. Husband will text from the store to see if I want something, which is a lot faster and easier than a phone call. Sister in another state will text and ask if it's ok to call. Sister in Australia will text to see if I want to talk and if that's ok she will FaceTime me. I find it comes in handy. I would never have a conversation texting.

Yes I do text a lot.  After MANY years as a switchboard operator, I HATE talking on the phone.

I hate texting. I just don't participate in much of today's technology. 2 or 3 texts on the same topic and I'm done 😄

I have never learned that whole thumb thing. In fact, if ordering Shipt, I just say no substitutions so they don't text me.

I do not text much.  Part of the issue is I dislike texting for anything but quick questions, reminders, etc. I also now am losing my vision. So, even if the bank wants to send me a code, I cannot read their string of numbers or letters to my phone to verify that I am me.

I'll text as a "touch base" thing.

If something is going into directions or a long explanation, then I'll call them.

Yes, prefer it to phone.  My grandkids text all day, one up until 1:30- cause she knows I am awake. Lol. I have 8 grands and a great gran on the way. However, the boys don't text me much, unless I text and ask them something, lol.   I keep up with friends as well.

I text all the time. For me it is easier and quicker to get an immediate teply. I am not a big phone call person. In my career, I was on the phone all the time. I text my family all the time. The only time I call is for a doctor's appointment or billing questions.
