Re: Disabled/elderly shuttle

There is an Agency on Aging, I don't know if every community has one. It's meant to help Senior Citizens, like providing information/help for those needing home health care, available services, senior centers, the shared ride bus... it's government funded and should offer individuals transportation to out patient surgery and an aid to accompany them.

Having an advantage plan that includes transportation is of no use if the senior lives in a small town or city that has no transportation  providers.

Even if transportation is available, some outpatient procedures require someone to accompany the patient and often that service is nonexistent.

@occasionalrain  that person would know what works for them.

You would be surprised to know that a lot of small cities have transportation for the elderly and I would hope that the person would at least have a friend or relative to accompany them to their appointment.

I must say that I'm Blessed and so are a lot of other people.

That agency is available in a lot of places. All they have to do is make a call.

What a weird twist this thread took.  @chrystaltree I agree with the poster who thought you should have scheduled the ride a bit earlier.

I agree.  Some people are going to be shocked when they get old, aren't as able as they were and folks just say basically: "Deal with it.  I can, so can YOU!"

How old are you?
