June 2024 - Summer's Coming to the Bird's Nest

Welcome friends old and new to the Bird's Nest for June.

The two baby birds that were born in my brown bird house fledged in May and I can hear telltale chirps from the nest clutch.  I'm not sure if the sounds of new life are coming from the brown birdhouse or the white birdhouse.  I'll have to stand in front of the kitchen window for a little while and study the activity of the adult sparrows and get back to you, lol.

I've been watching adult robins teach their young how to find foot in my backyard grass.

Among the trees is a bird's nest,

and in the nest her three eggs rest,

and in each egg, Hush, you'll be heard!

There lies asleep A tiny bird.

I was running late with the June thread.  This is Snicks post that she added to the May thread:

Good morning.
And just like that, it's June. Wow, time is flying by.
I did get "some" sleep last night, thank goodness, but I am still tired from several nights of very little sleep, so I'm not planning much for today. We had rain overnight, so everything is wet outside. If it dries out, I do want to do the remaining half of the edging (I only got half done yesterday), but, thunderstorms are in the forecast, so I don't know about that, also, our walk is in doubt. So, my day doesn't appear like it's going to be very productive, lol. At least thunderstorms will force me to get some rest, I suppose.
Hope you have a nice day.

Just came in from cutting the curb grass & around plants. It's 80 & sunny today.

My face was bright red & dripping with sweat; in fact my whole body was.

80 is nice to stroll in, but too hot for me to work in. Had a long cool shower and then peach juice over ice.
