When my friend and I would go downtown we often stopped in Woolworths. I think most of the time we only got something to drink.

Sure did. Would go shopping with my mom and always have lunch at the Woolworth counter. Brings back pleasant memories.

Y E S !!
There was a Woolworths across the rear parking lot from the office building where I worked! We didn't have a company lunch room. It was ESPECIALLY convenient when there was snow on the ground....or sub-zero outside! And quick...and the waitresses were friendly, too!

No, but I've had a frozen coke and soft pretzel at the Hills snack bar.

YES!!!!
Nice memories of going downtown for school shoes or Easter clothes with mom and getting a cheeseburger and fries. They were the first ones to have the "Steak-Ummm"
sandwiches and I loved them. The ones I bought at the supermarket just don't taste the same.
Even today there will be times when need a little gizmo or a cheapie little "make-life-easier" implement and I have no idea where I can get one. I think to myself "Drat!!" Woolworths would have had that!

I do remember Woolworth's having a lunch counter, but not sure I actually ate there. However, I did get my ears pierced there. They had a nurse on duty that would pierce your ears.
Loved Woolworths. We also had a McCory's in our town. Which was very similar. I am not sure which one was considered "the five and dime" LOL

Occasionally but not as often as I ate at Chock Full of Nuts!
