Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends! Hope your Tuesday went well.  Had color again tonight, Georgia is my hair stylest and she comes here, and she and Linda have been friends for many years, used to be neighbors, and Linda told me about her and that she comes to the house to do hair, so Linda came up to visit with us then.  Georgia also works for Home Health Care - and cleans houses, she's a widow, and in  her 70's but very busy.  She is a blessing to me!

Today let me find simple ways to bring joy to others. Lord, when I feel
that I have nothing to give, give me the confidence to believe in myself
so that I can touch the hearts of those around me.

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30

I can have faith, no matter what may come my way.  I can be patient,
even in the midst of troubles.  I need not fear the strain of life,
because I believe that God knows how much I can bear and will be there
to help me.  I can look to the future with confidence.  I know that
God will not ask me to bear anything that could overcome or destroy
me.

I pray that I may put this day in the hands of God  I pray for faith,
so that nothing will upset me or weaken my determination to live in
God's way.

Ordinary Miracles

Today, I wish you a day of ordinary miracles ---
A fresh pot of coffee you didn't make yourself.
An unexpected phone call from an old friend.
Green stoplights on your way to work.
I wish you a day of little things to rejoice in ---
The fastest line at the grocery store.
A good sing along song on the radio.
Your keys right where you look.
I wish you a day of happiness and perfection ---
Little bite-size pieces of perfection that give you the funny feeling
that the universe is smiling on you, holding you so gently
because you are someone special and rare.

Forgiveness

Thank you Jesus, You are Forgiveness.
Thank you Jesus, be my Forgiveness.

Jesus, I desire You to be my Forgiveness.
I need You to be my Forgiveness.

Please reveal Your Presence.
I ask you this through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Amen.

Prayer asking for Mary's Intercession
by St. Francis of Assisi

Holy Virgin Mary, there is no one like Thee born in the world among women,
Daughter and Handmaid of the Most Highest King, the Heavenly Father,
Mother of Our Most Holy Lord Jesus Christ,
Spouse of the Holy Spirit:

Pray for us with St. Michael the Archangel
and all the powers of Heaven and all the Saints
before Thy Most Holy and Beloved Son, the Lord and Master.

Glory to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, ...

The Pathway of Pain

If my days were untroubled and my heart always light,
would I seek that fair land where there is no night?

If I never grew weary with the weight of my load,
would I search for God´s peace at the end of the road?

If I never knew sickness and never felt pain,
would I search for a hand to help and sustain?

If I walked without sorrow and lived without loss,
would my soul seek solace at the foot of the cross?

If all I desired was mine day by day,
would I kneel before God and earnestly pray?

If God sent no winter to freeze me with fear ,
would I yearn for the warmth of Spring every year?

I ask myself these things and the answer is plain,
if my life were pleasure and I never knew pain

I’d seek God less often and need Him much less,
for God is sought more often in times of distress.

And no one knows God or sees Him as plain
as those who have met Him on the "Pathway of Pain."

House Cleaning

Last Week I threw out WORRYING,
It was getting old and in the way.
It kept me from being me,
I couldn't do things my way.
I threw out those inhibitions,
They were just crowding me out.
Made room for my New Growth,
Got rid of my old dreams and doubts.

I threw out a book on MY PAST
(didn't have time to read it anyway).
Replaced it with New Goals,
Started reading it today.
I threw out childhood toys
(remember how I treasured them so)?
Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too,
Threw out the one from long ago.

Bought in some new books too,
Called I CAN, I WILL, and I MUST.
Threw out I might, I think and I ought.
WOW, You should've seen the dust.
I ran across an OLD FRIEND,
Haven't seen him in a while.
I believe his name is GOD,
Yes, I really like His style.

He helped me to do some cleaning
And added some thing's Himself.
Like PRAYER, HOPE and FAITH,
Yes I placed them right on the shelf.
I picked up this special thing
And placed it at the front door.
I FOUND IT - its called PEACE.
Nothing gets me down anymore.

Yes, I've got my house looking nice.
Looks good around the place.
For things like Worry and Trouble
There just isn't any place.
Its good to do a little house cleaning,
Get rid of the old things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter,
Maybe you should TRY IT YOURSELF

He was going to leave, but....

One day an elderly surgeon said to an aging bishop, "Bishop, I just want to inform you that I'm thinking about leaving the Church. What do you say about that?"

The bishop asked the medical man if he could give him a few reasons for his decision. The doctor looked the bishop squarely in the eye and told him that he was highly disappointed with the Church and all it stood for. "Look," he explained, "the Church has been around for over a thousand years and today people are no better than they ever were. Or would you care to deny that?"

"What you say is absolutely right, doctor," said the bishop. "But look at it this way: we've had water on this earth for millions of years, and you still go and get your hands dirty every day, don't you?"

The doctor thought that one over, put on his hat, and disappeared from the bishop's sight. Incidentally, he never left the Church.

Verse of the Day

"As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive."

Colossians 3:12-13

April 26  - Jesus Calling

Welcome problems as perspective-lifters. My children tend to sleepwalk through their days until they bump into an obstacle that stymies them. If you encounter a problem with no immediate solution, your response to that situation will take you either up or down. You can lash out at the difficulty, resenting it and feeling sorry for yourself. This will take you down into a pit of self-pity. Alternatively, the problem can be a ladder, enabling you to climb up and see your life from My perspective. Viewed from above, the obstacle that frustrated you is only a light and momentary trouble. Once your perspective has been heightened, you can look away from the problem altogether. Turn toward Me, and see the Light of My Presence shining upon you.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
—2 Corinthians 4:16–18

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord.
—Psalm 89:15

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Getting your hair done makes you feel good.

I always feel better when I get mine cut.

Although I have to do it every 3 or 4 weeks.

Blessings to all
