Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends! Hope your day was and is still going well. Just came back from Adoration and we've decided we're going to lower the price of our house down 3,000. Sure hope that helps for the open house we'll be having on Saturday.  We've had about 8 showings, but no offers since the beginning of May.  Praying for you all for all your intentions, daily!  The Peace of Jesus be yours.

If you feel the need to get even, try getting even with those that have helped you.
Lord, free me from any thoughts of revenge because this only shuts the door
to my own happiness.

S C R I P T U R E   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the
mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and
foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult.  There is a river
whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most
High.  God is in the midst of the city; it shall not be moved; God will
help it when the morning dawns."  ~Psalm 46:1-5

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

In God's strength we can conquer life.  Our conquering power is the
grace of God.  There can be no complete failure with God.  When we want
to make the best of life, then we can live as near as possible to God,
the master and giver of all life.  Our reward for depending on God's
strength can be sure. Sometimes the reward can be renewed power to face
life, sometimes wrong thinking overcome, sometimes people brought to a
new way of living. Whatever success comes will not be our own doing, but
largely the working out of the grace of God.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may try to rely more fully on the grace of God.  I pray
that I may live a victorious life.

Push Back

When life pushes you down, push back! That's what you're here for. You're capable, you're creative, you're full of life and energy. You have what it takes to move yourself forward around any obstacle. Don't let anything stop you.

Take strength from meeting the challenges, and move ahead. The struggles you face are just what you need to fulfill your potential for greatness.

Think back over the past year. Consider the ways in which you've grown, the things you've learned, your accomplishments. Most of these probably came from overcoming some challenge or adversity which initially stood in your way.

A year from now, when you look back at today, you'll see that the problem you're so concerned with right now, was another valuable lesson waiting to be learned.

Scripture Reflection by Patrick Carnevale

Today's readings 6/23/15
Gen.13:2, 5-18;  Ps.15:2-5;  Mt.7:6, 12-14

We all know how easy it is to be led astray by what we see with our eyes, the "wide gate and broad road" Jesus speaks about in today's Gospel can really seem inviting at first glance, but we all know how quickly that can change. As we continue reading the story of Abram and Lot's journey to the land God had prepared for them we realize how important it is to seek God's Help in finding our way through this confusing and deceptive world we live in because as scripture tells us "Not as man sees does God see...for the Lord looks into the heart" while we tend to "judge by appearance" (1Sam16:7). We all know how much trouble that got Lot and his family into, it's probably done the same to us a few times as well, but that doesn't mean we have to stay on that "path that leads to destruction" forever. We can choose to seek a different path, one that will lead us to that unique "promised land" God prepared for us long before we were ever born, and if we allow Him to God will not only show us the way there but will come and inhabit the land with us, enabling those around us to "find blessing" in and through us just as He did with Abraham. The bottom line is we are where we are for a reason, my friends, it isn't by chance that we've come into the situations and circumstances that we're faced with, and we need to recognize and accept that Truth if we want to find that "narrow gate and constricted road" that will lead us Home.

God bless you,
In Jesus - Pat

Jesus Calling

June 23

Let My Love stream through you, washing away fear and distrust. A trusting response includes Me in your thoughts as you consider strategies to deal with a situation. My continual Presence is a promise, guaranteeing that you never have to face anything alone. My children teethe on the truth that I am always with them, yet they stumble around in a stupor, unaware of My loving Presence all around them. How that grieves Me!

When you walk through a day in trusting dependence on Me, My aching heart is soothed. Gently bring your attention back to Me whenever it wanders away. I look for persistence—rather than perfection—in your walk with Me.

But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.
—Psalm 52:8

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
—Deuteronomy 31:6

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
—Ephesians 4:30

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Gloria I'll be praying hard for you and Linus to sell your house quickly, and not have to lower the price anymore.

My husband saw the doctor today and he said it is a subacious cyst and nothing to worry about but he should still have it removed. So I have to call the surgeon tomorrow and make an appointment for him to see him. I'm glad it isn't serious but it is always best to take care of these things right away.

Blessings to all.

Good news about your husband's cyst.  At least you have nothing to worry about there.   At 8:30 in the morning the realtor lady is coming for us to sign papers about the price change, to enter it for advertizing and for the Open House.  Sammy and I will go to Lori's Saturday during that.  Linus works.

news about poster 'merle byrd' [ laura ] -

the week before the 'change' on the board, we were informed by some poster-friends that laura had entered hospice, and she did pass away soon after from pancreatic cancer.

the news of her passing was posted, but coincided with the change, and the deletion of the whole threads that the news was on.

i know some of the posters that frequent this thread had known her, and i wanted to pass along the news in case they missed it. hope it's ok- i didn't know where else to put it since the 'skypie' and other threads are all gone.

go2girl and ladyroxanne had been keeping us informed, but with all the mess on the board, i don't know when they may be back.

i am glad that you are able to keep this thread going in spite of the added difficulties, hope they keep 'fixing' it til it runs smoothly and logically.

is it possible that if darla gets the local job, she could buy your house ? that would be a solution i would wrap up with a bow if i could.  our prices and property taxes are way higher here in nj. but prices and demand vary so wildly by region. sometimes it is just the right person at the right moment.

have you spread the word at church? you know so many people- is there a way to insure that they know you are selling, it could be a favor to someone else who might be interested. even with realtors and the internet, word of mouth can still be the best. Heart

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Gloria,I hope the price drop helps generate a speedy sale. I think shosh's idea was genius! Praying daily for good news about Darla's job, and the sale to be completed before you move.

Harlene, I' glad your DH's cyst is not worrisome. I hope the removal is easy and he recovers very  quickly.

Julie, Very nice post!

shosh, I remembered Merle, and was glad I saw go2grl's post in time to pray for her and her family. I hope they're healing more every day. Your idea for Darla to buy the house is genius! I'm hoping and praying every day that the job comes through for her.

Hello to anyone I may have missed. I promise it's not intentional!

It looks like it will be beautiful today. The sun's just coming up. I did my volunteer work yesterday, and today will just work at home. Wishing everyone a good day! pinky
