Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends!  Hope your Monday went great!  I was so busy today and a long day but it was good, watching the twins grow is a blessing.  They are out of their  preemie sleepers now, and some newborns.  They are over 8 pounds now, maybe even 9  by now.  I noticed today they want more milk!!  All is breast milk - and she pumps alot and has enough for the twins.  It's so different now than it was when my girls were babies.  I know for sure that when they were 2 weeks old, they got some baby food veggies, and pablem, 3 weeks old, introduced them to baby food meats.  Now it's just breast feeding. Nothing else.  But they are growing and that's the main thing.   Today she made a taco soup that was so delicious!  I'm bringing more of that Amish Baked Oatmeal tomorrow because they loved it!!   It sure gets late when we get home from Darla's on a Monday night as he works until 8.  God bless you all!

We are judged by our actions, not by our intentions.  Lord, may I show
my love for You through charity and goodness toward others.

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."
When God finds two or three of us in union, who only want God's will to
be done, who want only to serve God, God has a plan that can be revealed
to them. The grace of God can come to people who are together in one
place with one accord.  A union like this is miracle-working.  God is
able to use such people.  Only good can come through such consecrated
people, brought together in unified groups for a single purpose and of a
single mind.

I pray that I may be part of a unified group.  I pray that I may
contribute my share to its consecrated purpose.

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The feast celebrates the assumption of the body of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven upon her death. According toPope Benedict XIV, it is a probable opinion, which it is impious to deny, though not an article of faith. The origin of the feast day is not known but it was celebrated in Palestinebefore the year 500. It is a holy day of obligation, its vigil being a fast day, in all English-speaking countries except Canada. Among the many masters who have painted the subject of the Assumption are Fra Angelico, Ghirlandajo, Rubens, Del Sarto, and Titian.

Forget it!

Forget about the days when it's been cloudy,
but don't forget your hours in the sun

Forget about the times you've been defeated,
but don't forget the victories you've won

Forget about mistakes that you can't change now,
but don't forget the lessons that you've learned

Forget about misfortunes you've encountered,
but don't forget the times your luck has turned

Forget about the days when you've been lonely,
but don't forget the friendly smiles you've seen

Forget about the plans that didn't seem to work out right,
but don't forget to always have a dream.

LOOK ON THE SUNNY SIDE

There are always two sides the good and the bad,
The dark & the light, the sad & the glad.
But in looking back over the good & the bad,
We're aware of the number of good things we've had,
And in counting our blessings, we find when we'er through,
We've no reason at all to complain or be blue.
So thank God for the good things He has already done,
And be grateful to Him for the battles you've won,
And know that the same God who helped you before,
Is ready & willing to help you once more.
Then with faith in your hearts, reach out for God's Hand
and accept what He sends, though you can't understand.
For our Father in Heaven always knows what is best,
And if you trust in His wisdom, your life will be blessed.
So always remember that whatever betide you,
You are never alone, for God is beside you.

JUDGE GENTLY
Author Unknown

Pray, don't find fault with the man that limps
 Or stumbles along the road.
Unless you have worn the shoes he wears
 Or struggled beneath his load.

There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt
 Though hidden away from view.
Or the burden he bears placed on your back
Might cause you to stumble too.

Don't sneer at the man who's down today
Unless you have felt the blow
That caused his fall or felt the shame
 That only the fallen know.

You may be strong but still the blows
That was his if dealt to you
In the selfsame way, at the selfsame time
Might cause you to stagger too.

Don't be too harsh with the man that sins
Or pelt him with word or stone
Unless you are sure - yea, doubly sure -
That you have no sins of your own.

 For you know, perhaps,
If the tempter's voice should whisper as soft to you
As it did to him when he went astray
It might cause you to falter too.

"La Asuncion de la Virgen". Rubens circa. 1626

Immaculate Virgin, Mother of Jesus and our Mother,
we believe in your triumphant Assumption into Heaven
where the angels and saints acclaim you as Queen.
We join them in praising you and bless the Lord who raised you above all creatures.
With them we offer you our devotion and love.
We are confident that you watch over our daily efforts and needs,
and we take comfort from the faith in the coming resurrection.
We look to you, our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
After this earthly life, show us Jesus, the blest fruit of your womb,
O kind, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.

August 15 - Jesus Calling

I am the God of all time and all that is. Seek Me not only in morning quietness but consistently throughout the day. Do not let unexpected problems distract you from My Presence. Instead, talk with Me about everything, and watch confidently to see what I will do.

Adversity need not interrupt your communion with Me. When things go “wrong,” you tend to react as if you’re being punished. Instead of this negative response, try to view difficulties as blessings in disguise. Make Me your Refuge by pouring out your heart to Me, trusting in Me at all times.

Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.
—Psalm 55:17

Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.
—Psalm 32:6

Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
—Psalm 62:8

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Busy day for you Gloriajean but sure sounds like it was great.  What blessings those little ones are and to see them grow so well and doing great.  Darla too seems better.  YEA!  Enjoy this time and embrace it all.

Good day at the museum and we were busy.  Always fun! Back there on Wednesday and then not until end of the month.

If you all have an extra prayer, I need some strength these days. Having landlord issues, worried he may not renew my lease come Nov.  Also, 2 sick kitties again. Virginia in today for blood tests and her eye may be acting up again.  Faith is still not herself with this cold and her eye looks not right. Hoping to get an appointment for her Thurs or Saturday.  My worrying and fears are off the charts.  I pray for strength and courage to weather this storm.  All extra prayers would help!  Thank you.

Well, after the vet today another friendand I are taking a friend out for her 40th birthday.  Looking forward to that!

Hope your day is filled with joy, many blessings and peace ladies.  Enjoy!

Peace, Nancy

@nj

I don't know you, but I do know kitties -- and how stressful it is when you are worried about your furry friends.

Hoping your girls are back to full health soon.  Saying a prayer for them right now.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Gloriajean, it sounds like the babies are doing great and Darla is so much better. And you helped all of this to happen!  "Judge Gently" is such a good reminder, and of course "Look on the Sunny Side" says it all.

Nancy, I'm sorry for the valley you are in right now. Prayers are being sent for you and your worries.

I will have two of my grandchildren for the next couple of days, and we are looking forward to that. On their list is a large bookstore near here and the candy store. Great choices!

I hope open everyone can enjoy her Tuesday!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Happy to hear Darla is feeling much better, and the twins are growing and thriving.

Hi Nancy, I'm praying for you to get your lease renewed, and I'm praying hard for your kitties too, as you know we have 3 dogs and one kitty, so we know how you feel if one of them gets sick. I hope the Vet makes them better.

Blessings to all.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Thank you all for your support and prayers for Faith and Virginia. Virginia was a real trooper tday and seemed to have all her blood drawn but just seemed like that to a nervous Mom, me! Well, waiting for those results tomorrow. The vet did not like how her thyroid felt and also, seems she has a heart murmur. That made me burst into tears and just thankful my vet knows me so well, 21 years!  Anyway, just a shock and all a bit overwhelming and yes, expensive so added worries.  FOr now, keeping her on her meds and waiting to see.  Faith heads there Thurs because her cold has not resolved.  I am praying a lot and trying not to get overwhelmed.  I am tired and just worried.  They are my life!

You have all been so kind and your words, thoughts and prayers have made my day and meant the world to me.  God sent you all to me today and I am grateful.

Peace ladies and hope your evening is a blessed one.

Nancy
