Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends!  Darla texted that she only saw the nurse this afternoon, thought it was a doctor's visit, said her BP was borderline and she let her come home.  Last week they were going to put her in the hospital!  Her doctor's appt. is on Wednesday.  So glad Greg is with her now.  My day today has been busy with putting my husband on a diet, not any diet in particular, just low glycemic, and hope he can lose about 20  pounds, I'd be happy with losing 10. Wish us luck.  He promised the doctor we'd eat low glycemic and diet and exercise will bring his cholestorel down.  He did before, it will again.

So I'm planning meals ahead of time now.

Our lettuce from our box in the deck her picked and we had that for lunch, made a good salad.  I also made scalloped potatoes, the healthy way, with veggies in it, some ham pieces, and put organic cr. of mush. soup in, delicious!  Told him no second helpings!!  Our inspiration today is using our talents - let's name at least one of your talents that you'd like to share.  I like to play the piano, and sing.  I taught Sammy all his tricks!!  What are yours?

Use your talents.  The world would be silent if only the birds that sing
the best would sing.  Lord, I will use Your gifts because You chose
them especially for me.

"If your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light; but if it is
not healthy, your body is full of darkness."  ~Luke 11:34

"If your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light; but if it is
not healthy, your body is full of darkness."  The eye of the soul is the
will. If our will is to do the will of God, to serve God with our lives,
to serve God by helping others, then truly shall our whole body be full
of light. The important thing is to strive that our will be attuned to
the will of God, a single eye to God's purpose, desiring nothing less
than that God's purposes be fulfilled.  We can try to seek in all things
the advance of God's kingdom, seek the spiritual values of honesty and
purity, unselfishness and love, and earnestly desire spiritual growth.
Then our life will emerge from the darkness of futility into the light
of victory.

I pray that my eye may be healthy.  I pray that my life may be lived in
the light of the best that I know.

A Moment’s Breathing Prayer

Surrender to God’s help by breathing in God’s healing power ... extend inhalation. Receive God’s peace by exhaling all worries and stress – extend exhalation.

Breath in what I need from God
Breathe out impurities that harm my soul

Breathe in God’s love
Breathe out any self hatred

Breathe in God’s forgiveness
Breathe out self hurt

Breathe in God’s peace
Breathe out anxiety

Breathe in Jesus’ compassion
Breathe out my pride

Breathe in God’s confidence
Breathe out my doubts and uncertainties

Breathe in God’s clarity
Breathe out confusion

Breathe in God’s peace
Breathe out my fears

Breathe in peace ..... exhale
Breathe in peace ..... exhale
Breathe in peace ..... exhale.

(Tolle Lege; Augustinian Historical Commission, 1997, used with permission.)

FAITH Is:

RELIANCE ON the certainty that GOD has a pattern for my life, when

everything else seems meaningless.

REMEMBERING I am GOD's priceless treasure, when I feel utterly

useless.

DEPENDING ON the fact that GOD is love - not on my ability to figure

out why - in the midst of smashed hopes, reversal and tragedy.

KEEPING ON when I'm dog-tired, discouraged, disillusioned, deserted,

dusty, and dry and I cast on His strength alone.

REALIZING that I am useful to GOD, not in spite of my scars, but

because of them.

CONFIDENCE that GOD is acting for my highest good when He answers

"No" to my prayers.

ACCEPTING the truth that, in spite of the wreckage and grief I've

caused, GOD has wiped the slate clean and delights in me!

RECOGNIZING GOD is the LORD of time, when my idea of timing doesn't

agree with HIS.

AN ASSURANCE (not a vague hope) of a happy hereafter of Heaven, based

on my trust in CHRIST's death as payment for my sins.

REMEMBERING that, though my way is as dark as night to me, GOD can

see and guides me unerringly.

DOING the right thing regardless of the consequences, knowing GOD

will turn the ultimate effect to good.

Mother Teresa Said...

With God, nothing is impossible. I perceive the infinite greatness that we can tap into. I see how He can work through us. Because you and I have nothing on our own we need Him.
As the Bible says, God waits and looks.
Will we respond?

Words of Padre Pio

Jesus will assist you and give you the grace to live a heavenly life and nothing whatever will be able to separate you from His love. St. Padre Pio

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Ladies, thank you for your support on Monday's thread about my going away and leaving my cats. I truly appreciate your kindness.  I am praying for my anxiety to lessen up.  My friend is so kind to stay here.  Helps me greatly! Looking forward to seeing my family. Thank you!

Gloriajean, good luck with the diet and healthy eating for your husband.  It is hard I am sure and I am with you, I too would like to shed about 10 pounds!  always a struggle but it is ok.

Hard to figure out a talent but I am a good listener so not sure that is a talent but does come in handy especially with the kids I work with.

I pray you all have a wonderful day.  Gloriajean, I pray Darla continues to do ok and that the little miracles are getting ready to make their appearance when they are suppose to.

Many blessings ladies and peace,Nancy

PS Gloriajean, where does Darla work? Before doing what I do now, I worked for almost 30 years in colleges and universities with the students who lived in the dorms.

Praying that Darla's blood pressure gets back down to normal quickly.

Good luck to you and Linus with the diet and I pray that Linus's Cholestorel gets back to normal.

A couple of things I'd like to share, as some of you know I love to paint and I also love playing the organ, and love reading this thread and meeting nice people.

Blessings to all

Gloria, good luck with Linus and his diet.  I am looking forward to the birth of the twins.  How do you plan to know them apart?  Interesting!

I like to decorate my house.  I like picking out new clothes.  I love praying for people.

Have a good afternoon.  It is very hot here.  I am so glad I have central air.  My COPD needs the cool air.  I have been staying inside as much as possible.  God bless you all.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Thank you all for your posts and sharing your talents.  It makes the thread interesting to read sharings.  Each one is different and each one has talents.  And Nancy, Darla is a Professor at the University here in town. She will be taking the Fall semester off and start again in January.
