Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends!  Now Mother Angelica can see how many people she touched during her lifetime and especially since her EWTN Network.  I loved her "Mother Anglica Live" programs!  Now they still will air them called classics.  Since I moved to our apartment, and we just have antenna, no cable, I cannot have EWTN anymore, miss it, but that's the way it is now.  I'm thankful for all the time I did watch it in the past. Sure loved her humor and her holiness. She was a blessings to many on earth.

Today let me find simple ways to bring joy to others. Lord, when I feel
that I have nothing to give, give me the confidence to believe in myself
so that I can touch the hearts of those around me.

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30

I can have faith, no matter what may come my way.  I can be patient,
even in the midst of troubles.  I need not fear the strain of life,
because I believe that God knows how much I can bear and will be there
to help me.  I can look to the future with confidence.  I know that
God will not ask me to bear anything that could overcome or destroy
me.

I pray that I may put this day in the hands of God  I pray for faith,
so that nothing will upset me or weaken my determination to live in
God's way.

U Turns

"Thanks for inviting me to go to church with you next Sunday, Uncle Al."
Tim and his uncle were on their way to Bonny Lake. They had heard the
fishing there was great. "I . . . I don't want to hurt your feelings,"
continued Tim, "but . . . well . . . I'm not sure I want to get into this
religious stuff. Besides, Mom and Dad don't think it's a good idea."
"Oh?" asked Uncle Al in surprise. "I thought you said that your parents
wouldn't mind if you went with me. You sounded quite interested last week.
You even said the Gospel was beginning to make sense to you."

"Yeah, but since then I've done a lot of thinking," Tim said slowly. "I
don't think I feel like getting 'saved' right now. The crowd I hang around
with at school wouldn't understand, and I like being with them. Someday I'll
start going to church, but I think I'll just go on the way I am for a while.
I know I'm not perfect, but I'm not so bad, either."

Tim's uncle drove on silently for a few minutes. "Oh, no!" he exclaimed as
they passed a road sign. "I was so intent on our conversation that I missed
the turnoff! We should have gotten off this road five miles back!"
"Guess we'll have to turn around and go back now, huh?" asked Tim.
But Uncle Al shook his head. "I don't feel like turning around right now,"
he said. "I guess we'll just keep going this way. I kind of like this road,
and the scenery is nice."

Tim looked at his uncle in amazement. "But we have to turn around to get to
Bonny Lake," he protested, "and the longer we keep going this way, the
longer it will take to get back. If we wait too long to turn around, we
might not even get there in time to fish."

Uncle Al smiled at Tim as he slowed down for the next turn. "You're right,"
he said, "and what you said just now is exactly what I've been trying to
tell you about spiritual life . . . that when you're traveling down the
wrong road, the sooner you turn around, the better. If you wait too long,
you might never get to your goal: Heaven."

     The Easter Story

From the garden of Gethsemane

Where Jesus knelt to pray

To the betrayal done by Judas

On that grim and fatal day.

From the mighty hands of Pilate

Who wished to let Him be

To the noble priests and leaders

Who refused to set Him free.

From the crown of thorns upon His head

And lash marks from a strap

To the weight of such a heavy cross

Placed there upon His back.

From the thief who hung beside Him

Crying, “Lord, remember me”

To the gentle words of Jesus

“Today, you’ll be with me.”

From the darkness of the noon time

As He died upon the cross

To the earth that shook and trembled

In response to such a loss.

From the cheering cries of soldiers

As they took His body down

To the caring hands of Joseph

A follower new in town.

From the tomb where He was laid to rest

In linen cloth of white

To the guards who had to stand close by

Throughout both day and night.

From the stone that blocked the entrance

As it gently rolled away

To the miracle that happened

On that third and final day.

From the baffled look of soldiers

As they peered into the room

To the startled face of Mary

When she found an empty tomb.

From the strange events that happened

As the guards all turned and fled

To the words that came from angels

“He has risen from the dead.”

From the frightened eyes of Mary

As she swiftly left that place

To the light that flowed from Jesus

When she saw Him face to face.

From the doubt of His disciples

When she spoke of resurrection

To the fear upon their faces

As He walked in their direction.

From the written word of scripture

He fulfilled in prophecy

To the eleven who had gathered

On a hill in Galilee.

From the words that had been spoken

Before He went away

To His ascension into heaven

Where He lives this very day.

From the bible on the mantel

Tis the words you need to heed

To find wisdom in its pages

And a light to sow a seed.

From the death and resurrection

Of the one we hold so dear

To the coming of His spirit

Now that Easter time is here.

From the colored eggs and candy

And an orchid trimmed in blue

To the truth found there in scripture

Christ Jesus died for you.

Regina Coeli

For those of us who pray the Angelus each day, I thought I would post
this reminder that during the Pascal Time (Easter through Pentecost),
the Regina Coeli is prayed instead.

V. Queen of Heaven, rejoice. Alleluia.
R. For He whom you were worthy to bear. Alleluia.

V. Has risen as He said. Alleluia.
R. Pray for us to God. Alleluia.

V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary. Alleluia.
R. For the Lord is truly risen. Alleluia.

Let Us Pray

O God, Who by the Resurrection of Thy Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, has
been pleased to give joy to the whole world, grant. we beseech Thee,
that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may
attain the joys of eternal life. Through the same Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

THE COLORING SONG

Red is the color of the blood that flowed
Down the face of someone who loved us so.
"He's the perfect man, He's the Lord's own son"
"He's the Lamb of God, He's the only one"
That can give us life that can make us grow
That can make the love between us flow.

Blue is the color of a heart so cold
That will not bend when the story's told
Of the love of God for a sinful race
Of the blood that flowed down Jesus' face,
That can give us life that can make us grow
That can keep our hearts from growing old.

Gold is the color of the morning sun
That shines so freely on everyone.
It's the sun above that keeps us warm
It's the Son of love that calms the storm
That can give us life that can make us grow
That can turn our mornings into gold.

Brown is the color of the autumn leaves
When the winter comes to the barren trees.
There is birth, there is death, there is a plan,
And there's just one God, and there's just one man
That can give us life that can make us grow
That can make our sins as white as snow
That can turn our mornings into gold
That can keep our hearts from growing cold
That can make the love between us flow.

Verse of the Day

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. And even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows."

Matthew 10:29-31

March 28 - Jesus Calling

I am a God who gives and gives and gives. When I died for you on the cross, I held back nothing; I poured out My Life like a drink offering. Because giving is inherent in My nature, I search for people who are able to receive in full measure. To increase your intimacy with Me, the two traits you need the most are receptivity and attentiveness. Receptivity is opening up your innermost being to be filled with My abundant riches. Attentiveness is directing your gaze to Me: searching for Me in all your moments. It is possible to stay your mind on Me, as the prophet Isaiah wrote. Through such attentiveness you receive a glorious gift: My perfect Peace.

But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.
—Philippians 2:17

“I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
—Mark 10:15

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
—Isaiah 26:3

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

[ Edited ]

Hi, gloriajean. You give of yourself to others in writing the Daily Positive Threads. Heart

Reading that you don't have cable, out of curiosity, I did a search and the website that begins with You and ends with Tube Smiley Wink has Mother Angelica's "Live Classics".

I was surprised to see the "Live in Memoriam Mother Angelica" starting from 3.28.16 thru 3.30.15 is available to watch, some of the programming from 3.30.16 - 3.31.16 isn't yet showing but my guess is 'all' the "Live in Memoriam" programming will be available. Lastly, another suprise was to see the show that is airing 'now' on Cable, is airing "live" at the site, too. This is all new to me, so my guess is Mother's Funeral Mass will be available to watch "live" and will be there to watch after the Funeral, too.

In the search bar: Mother Angelica in memoriam (for the Memoriam programming & Live Classics). I also put in search bar: Mother Angelica & there is a list of programming for Mother Angelica (including Live Classics).

God Bless!
