Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! Here's hoping you all are having the start of a nice and positive weekend!  This week flew fast!  Getting ready for Thanksgiving, let's all try to count all our blessings that we can remember as there are many day by day.  I'm thankful for all of you who read and post and also you who just read, and I'm thankful that the Q lets this thread continue even after 8 years! That is a blessing and the way things go, even a miracle!  This thread has had it's ups and downs, some hecklers, but mostly loving posts, and God wins! I'm grateful to God for all He does for us and all He continues doing.  May you all find His Graces and Happiness.

We are the only ones who can change how we think or how we act.
Lord, help me make positive decisions so that life doesn't just happen
to me.

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble
in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy,
and my burden is light."  ~Matthew 11:29-30

I can try to be unruffled, no matter what happens.  I can keep my
emotions in check, although others around me are letting theirs go.  I
can keep calm in the face of disturbance, keep that deep, inner calm
through all the experiences of the day.  In the rush of work and
worry, the deep, inner silence is necessary to keep me on an even
keel.  I can learn to take the calm with me into the most hurried of
days.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may be still and commune with God.  I pray that I may
learn patience, humility and peace.

The Holy Spirit is the inspirer of all prayer.  All through the centuries the prayer life of Christians has been lived under the influence of the Holy Spirit.  Many of the well-known prayers of the Saints, hallowed by use and set down in print, have been of inestimable value in the spiritual lives of countless millions of Christians.  The Spirit, too, is alive in our times and many contemporary prayers speak to the soul of modern man.  This is all the work of the Holy Spirit.

Cardinal Basil Hume
Archbishop of Westminster

Family Prayer To The Holy Family

O Heavenly Father, our loving God,
you have given us the Holy Family as our patron to bless and guide our families
that the fruit of the Holy Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control -
shall reign in our homes.

As husbands and wives, teach us to love our spouses more than ever.
As parents, give us wisdom and knowledge in rearing our offsprings
to be responsible and successful Christians forever.
As brothers and sisters, may we learn to care and support for one another
and be of inspiration to each other.
As children, teach us to be obedient
just as Jesus showed obedience and respect to Mary and Joseph.

As Christians, melt us, mold us, fill us, and use us,
in spreading the good news in our community
that they may see Christ in us.
When trials come, help us to face them with trusting faith
and confidently hope that all things work for good for those who love God.
May we have a happy holy family forever through Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
our miraculous patron, the adorable Holy Family. Amen.

Galatians 5:22-23 - The Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control.  There is no law against such things as these.

Lord,
Some days as I wake up I remember You
and praise and surrender my day to You.
Then, whatever may happen,
my whole day flows in serenity and inner peace and joy.

Some other days I forget You all day long.
Then, by the end of that day I feel so lonely,
miserable and angry with the world and myself.

Lord, if I remember or forget You, I know that You never forget me.
I live for Your mercy and Your love and hope that I will be as close to You,
as I know Your love wants
 me to be.

Amen

Isaiah 49:15 - "Can a woman forget her own baby and not love the child she bore?  Even if a mother should forget her child, I will never forget you."

November 13 - Jesus Calling

I am Christ in you, the hope of Glory. The One who walks beside you, holding you by your hand, is the same One who lives within you. This is a deep, unfathomable mystery. You and I are intertwined in an intimacy involving every fiber of your being. The Light of My Presence shines within you, as well as upon you. I am in you, and you are in Me; therefore, nothing in heaven or on earth can separate you from Me!

As you sit quietly in My Presence, your awareness of My Life within you is heightened. This produces the Joy of the Lord, which is your strength. I, the God of hope, fill you with all Joy and Peace as you trust in Me, so that you may bubble over with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. —Colossians 1:27

“I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles.” —Isaiah 42:6

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” —Nehemiah 8:10

May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope. —Romans 15:13 amp
